yeah the sts hasnt impressed me either. There is a reason every other company makes turbo kits the way they do (and it has a lot to do with physics properties). Not sure what other kits are available, i think tiago was working on one but i would recomend looking for something better than the STS.

On their site (for what that's worth...) it shows they made another 95 rwhp at 5 psi. And 180 rwhp at 8 psi.

I'll take 180 on top of my 390, for 570. Yeah it might fall off to "only" 500 at 6000 rpms, but that's ok too - my auto tranny will live longer with less load during the shifts.

We'll see what happens when I get it on there.
I went against the popular vote when I did the powerdyne last year too.

My plan is to run 9-10 psi, which should be around 600rwhp.

I'll probably need an intercooler, but that's nothing different than with any other turbo. My front end is already opened up and ready for a front mount intercooler.

Wasn't this thread about superchargers anyway? ;)

Too bad really. STS is always sure to post those peak numbers, and they post them like they're all that matters. Their site leaves out a lot of things when it comes to telling you how that setup really will work. What they mention about how heat is a factor in turbo operation (as far as exhaust gas goes) isnnt even half what you need to know. They conveniently leave out alot of important information. If you use an intercooler that will only make it worse. And as for what turbo you use, keep in mind that the turbo map is null and void on a particular turbo for the STS kit, because with all turbo maps they figure those maps off of a certain turbine inlet exhaust gas temp, and STS kits might see half of that temperature. Good luck with it though.. I think you'll have predictable high peak numbers, and as is normal with STS kits, horrible looking dyno curves that will come extremely close to what the curves would look like on a 3 liter supra motor with the same headunit.

I dont know alot about the STS kit.. and I am not about go go bashing it.. but a guy in my local car club had a CRAP experience with them...

There is a buttload of info here on this post..

            http://www.racersden.net/forum/showt...highlight=full

it had a post to a thread in ls1 tech that got deleted..

again.. i dont know anyhting about them really.. or the quality of their kits.. or whatever.. but.. figured I would spread the word.. you can interperate it as you wish..

basicly they built a setup for this guy and it blew up and they guy have vanished.. its happened to two people in my club..

one "jay" (mi021le) in the link i posted is a good friend of mine..

Bill Anderson (The GN GOD) fixed the motor.. he is a member of our local club as well..

bottom line.. i would not f-around with them..

i wish the ls1 tech thread was still up.. it was insane how many people have been f-ed by sts..
