Shouldn't you guys just be happy that a year ago there was practically nothing for the 3.4 and 3.8 cars and now, just around the corner, there are half a dozen options coming down the pipe?

this is ryans post. this is HIS Project he funded and finished. with help from mach performance.
you guys should be complimenting him on the great success of the kit and the solid performance it puts out.
get a grip on yourselves guys. ryan is prolly sitting at the computer reading this and, and prolly pissed at all.
dont compare superchargers to turbo chargers. they are two totally different worlds of forced induction.
instead of argueing who's is better. lets all stand around and applaud for BATMAN because he is doing something nobody else had the courage to do, and make a SUPERCHARGER KIT, spacifically built for the 3.8, that is intercooled, and has ZERO belt slippage. that is BACKED UP BY ATI.
so please quit the bashing. he has spent OVER A YEAR developing this kit for the v6 community.. you were all by his side encouraging him to do it, and how it would be badass.. and now that there is some compitition, which is a turbo, you guys totally stabbed him in the back.
i honestly think this is a badass kit. and with a built up motor, being aple to handle about 15 lbs of boost, would romp on the majority of the cars on the street/strip.
with a turbo, for such high boost, im sure you'll need a bigger turbo.. which will cause more lag im sure. so there.. a negitive part to the turbo's [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Actually, the turbos we are using can support upwards of 25 psi, at least, I'd say.

comparing 2 products isn't back stabbing. I've read all the crap that ppl have said through both of these processes. I'm glad that BATMAN decided 2 stick it out through a lot of indifference to get to this point.
Personally, I have always preferred turbo cars to SC'd just because of efficiency, especially cars w/ a turbo off each bank like the Nissan 300Z's. this doesn't mean I'm bashing batman. I started out comparing and contrasting the 2 kits since they seem to be coming out w/ Dyno numbers within the same time period. Honestly, I'd be happier trusting myself and getting the parts for a kit cheaper and making sure i did it right myself. Tiago is basically making a kit, testing it to see that bugs are worked out of it, and able to sell it for a lot less than the SC kit. With tiago's kit, it's got mroe adjustability with it, as far as tuning and power levels, and other modifications go.
If you like the idea of a serious, no bull**** warranty, and serious set power levels, go w/ batman's kit.2001 Arctic White Firebird<br />More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

This is really irritating guys. Please cool it and take this off the board.
I am happy about these numbers, and I appreciate what mach performance has done for us. In the future, if the kit is still offered, I will be buying one from his shop. I like the construction, and I admire the amount of effort that has gone into this kit to make it worthwhile.
Tiago's setup is a little homegrown, nothing wrong with that. It made good power, and he showed off a bit :D Its always nice to have competition, but don't fight over it. If you want a turbo, great go get one. Super? Fine now thats available.
Im just happy we have the options now, you all should stop whining and be happy as well. If you have something intelligent to say about this particular thread concerning the 7psi dyno, say it. If you can't come up with anything intelligent, please keep it to yourself.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

I have to admit, this tread is getting way out of hand. Moderators should lock it now. All batman is doing is just showing us his dyno result. He's not sticking it your face.
I'm proud of the fact that we have this poweradder as a choice now. When I started modifying there was almost nothing for us, but a few mediocre mods that's really meant for V8's. You guys should be happy and proud.
If you want to do a SC vs. Turbo. Do another tread. But this tread belongs to batman

TOBY I don't know who the **** you are and I really dont care. But can't you understand the concept of a prototype? IT was suppost to be functional, nothing else. IF I wanted it to bling I could have done that too and I still can, how hard woudl it be to smooth out some welds and powder coat the pipes? EASY. Yes the welds are not pretty and even with the nasty welds it still put out great numbers, imagine with good piping like the production pieces will be, full mandrel, little to no welds, the welds will not be done by us btw, our piping supplier will take care of any welding and they are pros. So that is not an issue.
The part about reliability is just part of refining the prototype, it was a shake down run, we are still debugging it, Ive had my kit for a year and IVe had time to fix all the problems, its reliable Ive put more then 10k miles on the car at approx 10-12 lbs of boost and have only been under the hood to change oil. The 3.8 was just recently finished there will be things that pop up here and there and we will correct the problems, part of development.
BTW, run your damn car in 4th and go as fast as you can, you will see you can't reach redline in that gear before the speed limiter kicks in.

wanna compair number im sure radcats car would of put down atleast 175 hp stock batman probly put down 155 hp thats still a 20 hp advantage he has a weak 3.8 i dynoed 165 with intake so if i got 5 hp off the intake that would be 160 for me stock and if his is week to begin with then i know he aint gonna be near me

still with his mods radcat would of atleast dynoed 10 more then him period besides
the fact that radcat had more boost period radcat didnt say he had 6 psi and dynoed 280 he said 7-8 in my book that means 7.5 so he atleast was puting 8-10 hp down more then batman cause of boost alone

and if you wanna be technical i can make a ver nice turbo kit for 2k that would lay better numbers down then your 3K kit so dont even go there on the price thing that was never an argument also

batmans car dynoed 250 to radcats 278 thats 28 hp less 15-20 hp was lost because of his trans plan and simple
if batmans car was tuned with a wide band then yes the numbers would be low but if its his more or less stock computer (if timing and fuel was not messed with then it was not tuned)

no **** an auto will dyno lower, I never said it woudln't but you are saying that RAdcat's car dynoed as much as CPs, which I doubt, All I said was that not every m5 car dynoes 190 rwhp. you can speculate how much he put down all you want but most 3.8s do anywere from 160 to 170 stock, I have not seen more then that consistantly.
If you are trying to say that a car lost 20 RWHP because of a auto then you are tripping. The theoretical difference is 5$ only, so lets do the math once again:
278 rwhp at 15% loss on a M5 = 320 hp [img]smile.gif[/img]
now
245 rwhp at 20% loss on an A4= 294 hp
so a 26 hp difference. where did it go?
Not even gonna mention the TQ.
If you are trying to say you can build a better one, sure, I wanna see that. Then put your money where your mouth is.
BTW Batmans' car WAS tuned hes been preaching about PCM programming for the last YEAR they have played with timing and fuel Im sure to accomodate the blower. If they did 20 passes on teh dyno good for them, I can't afford to bank that Im just a guy doing what he can with what he knows and has. Our turbo cars have absolutely no PCM work.
Might I mention that my lowly 3.4L also put better numbers down then that, and it WAS at 7 psi? My NA dyno was 154 rwhp and with boost, it was 260 shutting down early, and tq went from 188 rw to 332 rw, even the 3.4L beats your reasoning, you can't say it dynoed 190 rwhp cause it sure as hell didn't.

Have you ever driven a 5spd or driven over 55mph in ANY vehicle? Why would he NOT be hitting the governor in 4th?? In my 3.8, it hits the governor of 118 in 4th so i had to dyno it in 3rd also. Tiago's car has the governor at 108 or so. This would also be in 4th.
Jesus Christ man...and whats with you checkin on his exhaust pipe. Its a turbo...you DO realize they are powered by exhaust gases right? And checking on his welds implies you could do better and not just pay 4k to have someone do it for you? Get off your box and give Tiago the props he deserves. cp has a strong car him self he has about the same mods as me but i have a bigger exhast so its not like my car isnt breathing worse then his

thats 18 hp more for just having a manual hell we can go with 15 hp more then me
do the math batman is missing 20 hp cause his auto to begin with period
and who knows radcats car could actully be fast and no you cant base that off of et cause hell cp has only run what 15.4's and im almost a sec faster then him with 18 less hp
