Hey guys, as yall keep progressing on this kit...and I figure you two know the most about it...can you gimme a list of other necessary mod's for this supercharger to work to potential. (example : headers?? )

• #2
3" cat-back, headers, 3" cat, MSD-DIS-4, coil packs, wires, colder spark plugs(maybe NGK TR6's), big bore TB, ported intake manifold, Ported and polished heads, NA cam, pushrods, lifters, and maybe rockers. Since they guarantee that the kit will work w/ stock pistons/rods, then u don't really need 2 do those. the mods just listed will get the most out of the 7 or 10 psi kit they're selling. if ya wanted 2 take care of the motor too, get some .020 overbore pistons , L67 rods, and drop the compression down to 9.0:1 so u could eventually go up to 12 psi safely, or add a small shot of nitrous.

btw, centrifugal sc's like NA cams better than roots blower cams cuz they build boost gradually, reaching max boost high in the rpm range.

Thanks...now what, out of all that list is MANDATORY for the supercharger Would it be safe to run stock internals, with a few exhaust mods?

I would open up the exhaust. Probably headers. Definitely bigger pipe from the cat back, including getting rid of that narrow s-pipe right behind the cat.

Something to monitor a/f ratio. Optionally something to monitor fuel pressure.

That's just from the research I did on this a while back.

p.s. Batman, you rock dude!!!

I'd say the MSD-DIS-4, full exhaust(headers, cat, cat-back), and colder plugs. those are just to be safe. the more u do, the more power u'll make, and the safer the power gains will be. The SC is basically a giant intake mod, so definitely ignition and exhaust mods because u wanna burn all that air/fuel mixture, and ya wanna get it out of there quick.

oh,a nd the gauges I'd get are: Boost(30 Hg vacuum, 20 or 30 PSI boost), Air/Fuel ratio, and Fuel pressure. u'll know exactly what ur engine is doing and how to make sure it is safe, plus make everyone think ur car is supped up like crazy.

Thanks for your responses guys..what do you think about this 10lb kit that they are gonna be releasing, would exhaust/ignition mods be safe to run the 10lbs...(since they are already including the bigger fuel injectors). I really wanna stay away from the internal mods and dont want to have to replace my rear anytime soon.

P.S. Anyone know the mods BATMAN has done?

dont bother wasting the $300+ on coils and an MSD DIS-4, just buy the pcm tuning for $500.

PCM tuning can't prevent misfires from high cylinder pressures. I would wanna take care of at least a few Ignition mods to ensure full combustion of the 7 or 10 lbs. of boost.

oh, and V6 rear suspensions are weak compared to V8 rear suspensions, so u might wanna throw some money into LCA's, maybe swaybar, and maybe sfc's. oh yea, LSD if u don't have it, cuz 1 leggers won't cut it w/ 260 rwhp.

I agree with v6maro, the dis4 is just plain garbage! get your pcm programmed by dave buckshaw he is cheaper than the 500.00 place

I will repeat, the MSD-DIS-4 is not for tuning, it is to make sure all of the air/fuel mixture is burned by increasing spark energy and using "multiple spark discharge" to make sure all of the mixture is burned, hence the name MSD.

tuning can't take the place of a powerful ignition, and a powerful ignition can't take the plcae of tuning, period.

Batman has:
3" Borla Catback Exhaust
3" Highflow Cat (possibly damaged)
160 Thermostat
3.42 gears (he used to have 3.08)
Zexel Torsen LSD
Taylor Wires
NGKplugs
BMR STB
BMR ADJ Upper and Lower Control Arms
BMR Boxed Subframe Connectors
BMR Panhard bar
18inch wheels and BFG Geforce tires 18/245/40

So yes, he has done exhaust and some ignition mods(wires and plugs).

Our stock ignition is powerful. I am going out on a limb here. The GTP's ignition is strong. I am talking upwards of 13psi running pig rich. Some with different blowers are running 18+psi. I am also pretty sure Matt of ZZP(that has the CSC GT L36) is running stock ignition. Unless the L36 coils are drastically different, I would think that you shouldn't see any issue, especially at those boost levels.
