They're using the P-1SC model, but I have no idea the specs on that.

I've driven a turbo charged volvo awhile back and it was great. Though you have to be driving straigth when boost comes around at 3500-4000 or else.
I have to say that I am baised since i have a SC. I like the fact that I could remove it by unscrewing only 3 bolts and having my car smog. I also like the way the boost comes linear when the Powerdyne, I guess it has alot to do with their unique impellers.
But Turbos does have alot of potential and can turn any car with any displacement into a killer. I would have been the first turbocharged V6 if the two bothers didn't close their shop. But in a way I'm glad I didn't. Because I would hate to remove all that just to have my car smogged.
Besides once I solve this slippage problem. My goal is to have 9-10psi water/alcohol injected with my SC and do some engine mod on top of that without messing around with the compression ratio. I'm don't really want to have a race car anyway. I just want a fast V6 that is reliable to drive everyday. To have 350rwhp, that's great enough for me.

I would think it would be easier to pass smog with a turbo, woundnt you just have to take the c-clip off the wastgate so it stays open all the time and cant make boost. I wouldnt have that problem anyway, we dont have smog testing in my area of PA.92 S10 3800 A4(96)<br />1/4: 14.374 @ 92.25 w/ 1.976 60\'<br />Turbo and 12\'s Coming Soon!

to remove the turbo for smog, would require the removal of about 6 bolts, big deal.<hr></blockquote>
I don't have to dream. It's been done. A Powerdyne Alcohol/Water injected S10 makes well over that. A powerdyne 3.8 Stang that featured in Hot Rod and is a member of V6Power is getting pretty close to that number. He's made a couple of 12 sec. passes already, check out the timeslip.
Along with the engine mods that I plan to do, I believe I can achieve that.
I can remove my SC and put back the the stock intake in less than an hour. Can you do that with a Turbo. I don't think so. I have 4 cars and believe it or not all of them got smogged last year. I took it to four different places and all of them have perform strict visual check. So even if you remove that clip, it will still fail through visual.

the thing that is very appealing with the turbo is greater volumetric efficiency! at any boost level, if the car is tuned right, the motor will run cleaner/better mileage/ alst longer. granted this is all in the way the car is maintained, but it is definitely proven that turbo cars run cleaner and produce less emmisions. i have been looking into getting a smog legal EO number for our kits. i just have to do alot of paperwork and they will need the car for a few days. this should be well worth it for all you guys that might be interested in the turbo. if we get this you will NEVER have to remove the kit to do anything. ;)boost, you got it???

Oh Man! This could end up being the longest thread on the planet!!
I have ridden/driven in both, turbo and a supercharged car. I like both.
I guess I'm biased due to my current car, but, I really like the fact that with a roots style blower I can hit the gas and I have power NOW! I agree with the above statement that the roots blower is very innefficient, but I'm willing to accept that when I've got my max torque coming on at around 2500 rpm.2000 GTP<br />Thrasher CAI, 3.4\" pulley, DHP PCM<br />Member RedLineVSix<br />Best ET-14.02<br />Best Trap-97.15

With all due respect this seems a little presumptuous. I didn't design Tiago's kit but I could have the induction, turbo, and exhaust off and the stock y-pipe and lid back on Jesse's car, all within that hour. I went to great pains to ensure his system was easy to install thus easy to uninstall.

just thought I'd pose this question.. are we talking about efficiency in general or for the 3800 series II??
then we can say.. well are we talking on a stock motor?? or something with P&P heads some kinda multi angle valve job.. and cam to match or somewhere inbetween?? there are just sooo many variables...
personally I like turbos but honestly from what I have seen done so far I don't know how I would route the exhaust....
anyway there's something extra to think about..-Brad
