Hey all, while i sit here and wait for my blower to come back from powerdyne, i'm going to go next week to my mechanic to get some work done (Rear Disc swap, 3.42 gears, Spec 3 Clutch etc.) .. Now i was reading up on the "How To Port and Polish The Throttle Body On Your 1996-1998 3.8 Series II"... and it got me thinking to get my mechanic to do this for me.
Now, under a blown setup, i'm planning to somehow solve my slippage problem in the near future and have a constant 7-8 lbs of boost, i may even upgrade to a 9 lb pulley (and fuel pump), but we'll see, how well the slippage problem can be fixed. Besides cutting off the center bar in the throttle body, how much should i get him to take off around the edges of the throttle body? I've heard that i can't take it down too much or else i might throw the SES and it'll run like garbage. So what is the optimal amount i can get my mechanic to shave off, in order to see some good gains? Cause if non-blown/turboed 6's are seeing an approximate 10 hp gain from this mod, i would think that us blown people would see close to double that?
what do u guys think, any precautions should think about?
thanks
