STS Turbos for V6

My sentiments exactly. Either form of forced induction is the way to go when you want good power, but not too many of us want to imitate "John Force" on the city streets.

one thing that is always realized by me when you guys discuss turbo's and kits and superchargers and whatnot..

which puts out more power..


sure its nice to be able to be faster.. but some people fail to realize that its not ALL OUT balls to the wall performance they are going for. I wouldnt want a car any faster than a mid to high 12. other than that, i start running into lower gas milage, more upgrading such as drivetrain, rollcage...fuel..

when some people look into building a kit such as the rear mount.. i dont think they are 100 %R after hitting 9 second quarter miles. If i were to do my rear mount kit, it would be to have boost, at a low cost.and still be faster than 90% of the competition out there on the street.

like a lot of people on this board, i dont have a daily driver beater car so i would still like to keep my reliable and whatnot for a long time.. i could not afford any downtime on my car due to over boosting or pushing my car too hard.


Hey if it works.. awesome.. so then all you people who are argueing w/thatfact, backoff.. just because they are after something different then you does not mean it was done wrong. people of different needs will take different ways

oh really? Indeed, they are more complex to build, harder to tune, and more expensive, but there is no debate as to which provides the better performance. So if you're after the best performance, turbo is the way to go. The two quickest 4th gens I know of, are both turbo cars. One is a turbo LS1 car (Harlan's car) which ran 8.2 or so, and a turbo LT1, which ran 8.35 (at which time it had 900rwhp, it now has over 1200).... both of these cars will be in the 7s next season for sure. I'm hoping in the next year to turbo my LT1. </font>[/QUOTE]The fastest 4th gen is a supercharged LS1. Procharger I beleive. Just recently broke into the 7's. Its over on camaroz28.com. Not that I don't agree, turbo cars definitly have more potential, note the new mini coopers.

When I posted what I did, it was true. This just happened very recently. And it wont stay that way for long. the two turbo guys that will soon go 7s arent running during the winter when their respective tracks are closed. Otherwise they probably would already have gone into the 7s.

Sorry for the delay, I am having some technical
problems with the remote kit. I think something is wrong with my wastegate because it will not build boost until like late 2nd gear. I made another post (plea) for help.

yup, no turbos in top fuel. too bad, cause i'd like to see what they would do in comparison to the supercharged guys.

Think about the EGT and the exhaust pressure, they burn nitromethane. I read that the cylinder pressure at Bottom dead center is still over 2000PSI.

BTW, F1 cars put out more HP per cubic inch with turbos in the mid 80's than a top fuel car puts out today. Think what they could do with modern equipment.
