lol, as the rapper DMX once said...
Here we go again...
I like superchargers
[lisp]Becausthe they're thsuper, of course![/lisp] lol
But to be serious, I think turbo's are better on smaller displacement cars because a supercharger robs horsepower to operate. I don't think a turbo uses any horsepower to make horsepower, not 100% sure on that though.
On the big stuff, supercharger dominates. Thats why top fuel dragsters use them ;) With our V6s... who knows. We have yet to see some time slips of turbo vs. super hehe.
That means some people need to get their arse to the track ;)

Turbochargers are using spent energy to create more energy while a supercharger which is being worked by a pulley is using active energy to create more energy. The Turbocharger is more efficient.Mustangs.. Come to the darkside...

The dark side is the path to the shadow of greed. =D

And the way you say it makes it seem like there are no top fuel dragsters running turbo setups, which is COMPLETELY untrue.AIM: escalier deverre
\'02 Pearl Blue Metallic RSX-S (daily driver)
\'98 Black Firebird
98 V6 turbocharged to 02 LS1 swap
\'02 LS1/4L60E
LS6 Block, LS6 Intake Manifold, Thunder Racing 215/220 .600/.523/115 Cam, Titanium Retainers, Crane Double Valve Springs, 125 shot NX Wet Kit w/ NOS brand Purge, True Dual \"H\" Pipe w/ two chambers and dumps, 17x11(rear) and 17x9.5(front) Black Powdercoated ZR1 Replicas on 315 and 275 BFGoodrich Comp T/A\'s (Street)/ET Drags/Skinnies on Weldlites(Track), 3.42/LSD

I would have to lean towards the turbocharger, over a supercharger, they usually can produce more boost with no tax to your existing power. If superchargers were superior, then I would think the Intense Turbo GTP would still be using one. Another issue is that with turbos, is you can turn up the boost using a boost controller, with no other modifications other than the same strengthing of internals required to run a supercharger. Well maybe in top fuel. I don't know. I know there are tons of turbo drag cars out there.
So if it's illegal in top fuel you must know it's better AIM: escalier deverre
\'02 Pearl Blue Metallic RSX-S (daily driver)
\'98 Black Firebird
98 V6 turbocharged to 02 LS1 swap
\'02 LS1/4L60E
LS6 Block, LS6 Intake Manifold, Thunder Racing 215/220 .600/.523/115 Cam, Titanium Retainers, Crane Double Valve Springs, 125 shot NX Wet Kit w/ NOS brand Purge, True Dual \"H\" Pipe w/ two chambers and dumps, 17x11(rear) and 17x9.5(front) Black Powdercoated ZR1 Replicas on 315 and 275 BFGoodrich Comp T/A\'s (Street)/ET Drags/Skinnies on Weldlites(Track), 3.42/LSD

"Turbo's used to be illegal in top fuel and I think they still are"
Yep.
"due to the ease of increasing boost by using a boost controller. "
Huh? I think it's because they don't want everyone to have to spend a zillion dollars designing and building new engines.
These days, it's simple. Turbos can make more power. Everywhere in motorsports where they are legal and unconstrained, they dominate. Supers can be more civilized (better torque curve, quieter, less maintenance because lower heat) so they are sometimes used on street cars, particularly upscale models. The "can" refers to the fact that there are good ones and bad ones of each type.2000 Firebird convert, chameleon/tan, M5, Y87, TCS, BMR tower brace and panhard, KBDD sfcs, 245/50-16 GSCs
