  • Blower kit requirements.

ok so ive decided once i build up enough funds (again) i am going to try building a blower kit for my car. i have decided to use the vortech v1-sTrim running at bout 10psi. now i know i will need a blow off valve and an fmu to start but what else would be absolutely neccesary (i plan on adding an intercooler later after i get more money along with maybe new injectors and L67 internals).

Lots of piping, lines, and brackets. Get a self-contained one and do yourself a favor.

I would seriously talk to someone on here about building your own brackets so you know what EXACTLY you will need and what you will need that you don't think you will need.

i have a bunch of aircraft grade aluminum and a bandsaw and drill press so i think i could make most of the bracketry with just that and some stand offs to make it flush with the engine block. from what i understand i also want to go with the counterclockwise as well so i can run the blower on the ribbed side of the belt. i was going to buy the kit from DrFix2Fly, but i no longer have the money to, and he said he used modling clay to form the pipes he wanted and then wraped it in several layers of fiberglass, and it looked pretty solid so i think ill try that first and then if it doesnt work ill go metal piping. i was planing on using the silicon fittings to connect everything together. but im not sure how to tell if i have my timing retarded enough or really how to do that so any info on that would help out as well. i plan on starting this by mid 2004. its more for a learning process than for a perfect supercharger kit an im sure there is plenty to learn.
