  • All praise for the Walbro 255 lph pump!

I just had to post about my experiences with this pump! Before installing it, my car was running lean with 8 psi of boost and only 60 psi of fuel. In just three hours, my car gets all the fuel it wants (up to 100 psi by accident today!)!

I couldnt believe the power difference that happend when I changed the pump! I have LCA's and 245-50's, yet I still spin my tires all the way through first and second! I guess it just wasn't making all of its power when it didnt have all of its fuel.

I seriously can't floor it in second without getting wheel spin!!! It's delicious!

I'll be hitting the track on Friday, and we'll see what it can do!

Screw everybody who says powerdyne sucks, because I'm lovin it!

I'm running 8 psi of boost. I ran at the track before the walbro, but I didn't mention it because I couldnt go over 4,500 rpms (I didnt want to run a lean engine up to red line). I ran a 14.69 at 95 mph, which is ok, but it is no where near what I actually run.

In just a few short days I'll know if my huge investment of time and money was worth it.

fuel will do that to ya. switch to 255-50's and see if ur spinnin as bad, or if ya drop a little off ur 60 ft. and 1/4 times. Ian, do both. direct port nitrous kit, low-moderate boost sc, and an intercooler spray bar kit. do it all like Shirl has done.

I got it for 99.99 plus 8.95 shipping from www.neweraperformanceparts.com.

You can specify whether you want the high pressure or regular pressure pump, and they are both the same price (get the high pressure pump if you use an fmu).

I really want to get new tires, but I have to wait for my current tires to wear out or else my dad will kill me (he is very cheap). So, I will probably be getting them in about 10,000 miles.

Yep, car is definitely faster now with the pump.

                14.246 @ 98.75 mph

Not too happy with it- shoulda been in the 13's, but its close enough!

Yea I completely agree with you on the difference the pump makes.... Before the powerdyne I ran anywere from a 16.1-16.4. Then after the powerdyne I was only running a 15.8-16.1 , I was like WTF. Sure it was faster but not as much as I was expecting. I was running 7-9 psi and my fuel pressure was only up to 55. I got the walbro and went bqack to the track. BINGO... My car pulled a 15.1. HUGE DIFFERANCE. You can have all the boost in the world but if your fuel cant hang then your just blowin hot air. He he

well, the reason im contimplating is mainly because of the fact that yes, its still a 6. If i had nitrous only, i would be happy with the speed, and also happy i didnt sink too much money into it. If i decided on the P-dyne or ATI, and nitrous, i would want to keep the car. I dont have a problem keeping the car at all, but i really still want a Grand National, so its a decision that i have to make. Nitrous and live with the speed for now and get a GN later, Nitrous and p-dyne and keep the car, or just a p-dyne and keep it for a while.

i like the idea that the nitrous isnt nearly as expensive as the charger, but the only thing i dont like about the nitrous is the fact that its only instant power, not all the time. This doesnt seem very cool to me, cause id want to power to pull me out of corners on backroads, but it may be a good thing, because i wont get myself in trouble with that much power at my foot all the time.

Hey GreenGlow- are you using the timing retard unit? Are you expeiencing any noises under full boost?

I'm getting a clicking noise above 5,000 rpms- it clicks like 2-3 times. It used to do it after 4,500, but then those ones went away when I installed the fuel pump.

I'm beginning to think I should do something with the timing since I'm running 9 psi of hot boost.

Ian, with the new Turbo kits for our cars, why would u wanna go w/ a GN? u'll end up spending the money on upgraded turbo kit for it neways, so why not just do it to this car? Now that there's more universal engine management units out there, u can program the computer that when the nitrous is armed, the computer will monitor how much and when to spray, so u can spool up the turbo quicker with a mid-size shot, and leave it on a little for the top end to cool it a little.

I have never used any type of timing retard. I used to get that sound to when under full boost.MISFIRES!!! I never got them till I started seeing 71/2 psi or better. I just changed my plugs and that did it for me. As far as not being intercooled is concerned I wouldn,t really sweat it. From everything I hve read .....If your making less then 10 psi then it dosent really make a difference. This is straight off of www.superchargersonline.com 9 psi is only considered low-moderate boost.

When you were misfiring, could you hear it out of the exhaust, or was it only a ticking coming from the engine? I am already running tr-6's, so I am confused as to why its doing this.

I can only hear the ticking in the engine- it doesnt sound like the misfires i used to have.

                            Help!

I think I hear the same thing. It's not a misfire though.

At least Autotap doesn't see it.
