Re: Bet you guys hear this alot :)

Ill just put the fuel pump switch next to the nitrous arming switch, seems like the intank is probaly easier to do, but I dont like the idea of wastin gas when Im just cruising around the city. When Im just runnin on the SC and the new camshaft with 42 pound injectors would I still need the fuel pump?

you aren't wasting gas with the fuel pump. It is just capable of supporting your cars power when it is needed. Your fuel PSI will stay constant because the pump can handle it.

there is only one option (to the best of my knowledge) for upgrading injectors on the 2000+ fbody v6 cars with the least amount of pain and modifications. We use multec2 'long' injectors. (22#) these injectors are from racetronix and they are about $300 for 6. they are 'multec2 minis' (44#) so the fuel rail will still have to have it's legs shortenend. they will plug in electronicaly though with out re wiring in bosch style injectors.

I plan on trying these in the future.
I will also be using a pre 1999 fuel rail and keeping my stocker un molested. (just in case)

as for the in tank pumps...all the pumps that are sold as universal or share the same part numbers as 3rd gen cars (1982-2002) will require modifiacation. all the pumps that share the same part number as metal gas tank cars (pre 1999) and plasctic gas tank cars (99+) will alse require different degrees of modification. some of these modification will reduce or remove functionality of the pump...ie. gutting or removing the pump bucket, altered (shorter) pump install height that requres you to keep a 1/4 tank of gas in car or else pump can run dry, etc.

the only confirmed 100% plug n play aftermarket pump kit that retains full functionality and requres no special moddind is the racetronix LS1 pump kit. it is more expensive. (about $240) but it also comes with upgraded wiring kit.
YOu want the 99+ plastic gas tank ls1 kit if you go this way. http://www.racetronix.com/RX-F99-FPKG-2.html

I might be the fist person 'here' to get this pump kit...but i won't be the first v6 to do so.

        good luck.

p.s. there are plenty of posts concering the 2000+ fuel rail and the multec2 injectors vs the much more common bosch style injectors.

most people do the splice and chop. i thnk once you get done buying the splice kits, though....money adds up.

always research in depth and never take for granted when you see our 2000+ cars lumped in with the older 3800 cars or with W body cars. there is a lot of bad info out there from vendors...becuase anything is universal provided you have a bunch of tools, time and ingenuity.
