about a supercharger

Do they only come in 6 psi and then you upgrade them, or can you get a lower psi at a cheaper price, If there is a lower psi supercharger, i would like a link or something

Only 6 psi with occasional spike of 7-8psi, but no there isnt a cheaper priced kit out there sadly :-(

With these superchargers you can upgrade, but not downgrade. Plus, why would you want to downgrade? Wouldnt be worth the money. The 6 psi puts out ~60rwhp, why pay for less than that. You could do a cam for less money and equal horsepower.

You dont get it, he wanted a cheaper kit, i.e. the LT1 & LS1 kits have 4.5psi and the 6psi kits there is a cost diffrence, and the 6psi is worth more than 60rwhp. Its more like 80rwhp.

Oooooh. Gotcha. Sorry I didnt know thats what he was refering to.

I've been told several times that the powerdynes with 6 psi of boost give 60rwhp and ~80hp at the crank. Thats coming from Grayman. I dont know for sure cuz I dont have one, but thats what I'm told. I tried a search and didnt really come up with much. If you could find out for sure what it is, let me know cuz I am pretty curious about it. Hell, I like the sound of 80 more than I do 60!

BTW, there is a Powerdyne for sale on eBay right now for $2200. AWESOME KIT TOO!! A guy from this site is selling it and it comes with a ton of extras. Search "powerdyne 3.8 supercharger" and it comes right up.

The reason why 4.5psi would be cheaper than 6psi is because there are less accessories for it. But the blower head unit, bracket, piping and so on are still the same. The only difference btw. 4.5 and 6 is the pulley size.

Unfortunately, the only way to get a cheap SC is wait for a used one to sell.

ok thanks for all the info, I'm only 19 yrs old so i dont have much money to burn, but i like to do stuff to my car, as for a cam not many of the mechanics i know want to mess with that.
