  • Intercooler Question

If this belongs in Gen. Tech, my apologies.

I read the sticky on intercoolers, and their function, and I get that. However, if a get an intercooler and wait a while for a SC or Turbo, how does the intercooler affect the performance of the car overall?

Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a particular intercooler, that would be great. :D Thanks in advance.

Quick note: I know NOTHING about this stuff. A friend of mine told me that was possible, hell if I know.

yes you can. performance will suffer though because of all the extra piping the intake air will have to travel through. A turbo or sc pushes the air in faster which is why its beneficial.

              Re: Intercooler Question

So I'm thinking about putting a supercharger on the car. With the risk of this getting locked and being told "search for it" I'm going to ask anyway. What are the supporting mods for a supercharger, and does anyone recommend a particular one.

P.S. I plan on searching but I don't have the time right now, so if anyone would like to post to save me a little time, I'd appreciate it. :) Thanks!

Please, dont do it. You will be mocked and riddiculed by your peers.

Yes there are some kits available. Rksport.com has one and machperformance.com has one. Both are well over 3400$ in cost. The Rksport one can be found for cheap on ebay and other fbody sites that dwell with v6 performance.

Supporting mods, FMU, Wideband, Full exhaust including headers, ect... Something you should really get into the habbit of doing is using the search function. This site has been around for many years. Also look into this link

This site has helped many a kind throughout the years. Me included.
