Okay so i met a guy who races GTP's the other day who helped me get my injectors installed and tuned, and he says he's swapped in a couple of l36's from fbodies and used his heads and intake and it bolted right in.

By contrast, he said if I got a GTP l67 and used my heads and intake it would be the same and thus a cheap way to get forged goodies to run higher boost. What do you guys think? I know that going that far you might as well add a good cam and get better heads, but is the theory at least sound?

I can get an l67 for less than 500$ used around here..which is way more affordable than the thousands it would take to build up my l36.

i havent seen the mounts for the tranny, and front stuff on the motor. however you can swap the heads and intakes. and it will lower the CR, and give you the stronger pistons/rod on the bottom end. i saty if oyu have time and another car to drive during the swap go for it.......

one thing..... the cam in the L67 is made more for SC cars however it should work a bit better for boost..... but wihle your there why not put some p/p heads and a nice turbo cam :)

Blocks are the same. Also the cam in the L67 is the same as ours. Not optimized for a blower. L67 is an excelent option, much longer life than a high buck forged rotating assembly.
