      Idle. ;)

It should start and run with an open downpipe.

          Re: need help fast...

i had the same problem with idling too.. try what andrew (viper) suggested, unhook the battery for about 10mins, then re-connect it, this will allow the computer to do a re-learn. If still doesn't idle (like mine wouldn't) the problem i had was with the pcv (because it is vaccum) inside the tb there is supposed to be a certain vaccum pressure and keeps the butterfly valve (tb valve) open just enough so the car gets air to mix with the fuel to idle. the solution i did to fix that (although is NOT recommended) was adjusting the tps and idle screw at the throttle cable cable. After quite some time i got it running fine, however it is quite tedious to find the right spot. I'm not saying you should or should not try this, i'm just saying what i did and what worked for me.

edit: and having no downpipe does not matter, it will not affect your car's idling. no need to worry about back pressure it's all built up in the turbo.

the whole time i installed my turbo i had the battery unhooked so its not that. However, i did do the custom gasket thingy to the throttle body so it sounds like it was the same problem you had. thanks for the help

did you remove the MAF screen?

it takes a good while for the PCM to relearn the fuel trims up to 40 miles of driving

the turbo would make it not idle at all tho? when i get the oil lines finished up and Y pipe fitted correctly i will start it and adjust the idle screw and stuff....i have a 6:1 FMU and on the backside where the vaccum line is theres an adjustment screw...do i want that screwed all the way in or what??

see this is why i said it's not recommended to adjust. the screw is in perfect postion by the factory to adjust your a/f ratio for idle. it may seem like a simple task by adjusting the screw, be for warned, the slightest adjustment either inward or outward will adjust the RPM greatly. Turning the screw inward INCREASES the idle rpm, turning the screw outward DECREASES the idle. IF you decide to mess around with it, only turn the screw millimeters at a time to adjust, trust me... also, based on the setting of the fmu you will need to tune it again

^^^ FMU shouldnt affect idle check your vacuum line if it doesnt leak (bov one , that connects after TB) also check Vacuum control valve (located in top left part of TB).
I thought that youve got HP tuners? get bigger injectors inthere like I did , It idles like a charm, you would have to dich FMU later on anyways. what a waste..

                                Re: need help fast...

i looked on tiago's website...fff.com and i looked at several pic's of how they had the FMU hooked up. I have it hooked up the same way. The 2nd fuel rail (closest to the firewall) i cut in half. Put a barb in each side. Connected the side from the fuel rail to the bottom part of the FMU and the fuel line to the middle part and of course the Vaccum line. I know it doesnt hafto do with my FMU cause before i even had it installed i started my car to hear it run and it wouldnt stay running it would stall. I did do that Mod to the throttle body to close up the ports but i havent got a crank case oil cap breather yet. When my car stalls tho it does sound like theres a vaccumm line leaking...and its loud. I noticed when i was putting my throttle body back on that the vaccumm hose that Igora mention is cracked above where it clamps down. Tomarrow i will fix that. If that doesnt work any other idea's on how to get her to idle?? someone said to adjust the air/fuel mixture screw but i cannot find it and as far as i know i dont have any other vaccumm lines leaking. Thanks for the help
