    Re: need help fast...

ok well today was a very long day. After many cuts on my hands and fingers slipping off oily wrenches and all the fun stuff i finally figured it out. First i took off all the piping from the manifolds to where the turbo bolts up. I shortened that up so the piping is as far up to the frame underneath as it can go because of how it was mounted before was about 3/4" away from the frame so i fixed that all up. Next was on to the oil problem with the turbo. I clocked it first, and was still getting a whole lot of oil out the exhaust. So then i changed some feed line fittings and still oil. I tried to level the oil drain/feed by my eye and still got oil. Finally i took the turbo off and me and my dad pulled it apart from end to end to see if any seals were blown. Everything looked good so we bolted her back up but this time my dad used a leveling tool that he got from being a mechanic to make sure the oil drain/feed were 0* (perfectly straight up and down) so we got that all set up and tightened her up, started the car and No oil. I revved her up (downpipe isnt on yet) to see if any oil would come out. No oil at all which i was really happy with not to mention the turbo was turning much earlier in the rpm range (around 2 grand) then it was before (around 3200 rpms)....i changed my vaccum lines to the TB line except for the FMU and Boost gauge, i left them T'd into the Fuel pressure regulator line. Tomarrow im gonna put the downpipe back on and the rest of the exhaust then take her for a drive. Hopefully everything works well....

Now i have 2 questions if anyone knows the answer. Exactly how does the Wastegate and BOV work from vaccum lines? i have a 40 MM external HKS wastegate and im still kinda confused on how it operates just from the vaccum line and how it knows when to open and let the gases bypass the turbo

            Re: need help fast...

well today i threw on a downpipe and took her for a real test ride. The turbo gets really loud around 4 grand when it starts making boost (whys it so high???)....then when i redline at 5700 and it shifts, the blow off valve is just insaly loud. I dont know what PSI im running right now cause my boost gauge still doesnt work. The car deff. picks up in the higher RPMS but im rather dissapointed a little bit. Right now at my guess it doesnt feel like i would even be making over 250 RWHP. Im bringing it to a shop sometime this week that specializes with turbo set-ups. Im gonna have them fix my gauge, attatch the downpipe into my exhaust and some other things. Maybe if they will let me i will give them my laptop with HP Tuners and have them tune it. I have a friend that works there with a turbo integra that runs 12.5 so i will have him check everything out too

BTW whats it sound like when the wastegate opens. When i start hitting boost i cant really tell if its the turbo spooling or the wastegate starting to open??

                1. not have ing the boost working and boost is bad
                2. it don't kick in till 4000 because you have HUGE exhaust side on the turbo
                3. the BOV should not open untill you let the gas off (lol)

                4. you probly can't here the gat over the motor unless your out side the car

                  Re: need help fast...

There is adjastment on the BOV , so you can tide it up if its instant open.
You cant hear wastegate , but BOV.
Your wastegate woudnt open earlier than your spring load even if its connected unproperly/bad - if this is the case it woudnt open at all.
Your speed shop woudnt help you much unless you will buy a smaller turbine hosing(.68), witch I think you can swap with your big *** .84 :)

                    Re: need help fast...

then it must be my turbo spooling up cause it makes a insanly loud whistle sound. I know when my BOV goes off cause its right when my car shifts and thats loud too...i just didnt know if the whistle sound is suposed to be that loud from the turbo...i thought maybe the wastegate was opening early

haha i have always spelled it that way and everyone always corrects me...same thing with LiAr...i spell it liEr :) anyways one quick question...

why does my car have a decent amount of blue smoke come out the exhaust when im idling...and when i start driving...then it clears up...then idle and it does it all again?? is it just the nature of the turbo??

by the way u have helped me alot..whats your first name?? mines Andrew
