well i finished today! thanks to NCstate98 for the help. Ill get pictures up here tomorrow. question: i gave it a few test runs into boost and my car felt a little like it was dragging and slugish almost, but not quite a misfire. maybe im just not used to how the supercharger pulls? or maybe my car is just getting used to having forced induction? im not sure. anyways, it feels funny. not quite sure what it is.

Something's doesn't sound right. Take it to the track and do a couple of runs to see how it does then go from there.

when i stopped the car, the engine was smoking a little bit. i hope its just cuz my car hasnt been driven much and its getting used to the blower. but who knows. ill drive it around a bit today and take it easy and see how it goes.

Did you test drive NCstate98's car? How was it compare to yours?

Drive it around some more. I think, don't quote me on this, this will help the computer get use to the huge amount of airflow.

Usually when I take the SC for smog reason my car reacts in a funny way. When I drive it around as an NA car, my RPM won't go pass 3k. When I turn off the car and on again it goes back to normal. When I put back the SC my car doesn't know how to react again. The RPM goes crazy. After a couple more runs it's back to where it was before.

Another thing about Centrifugal SC is that the boost is linear. So it is a definate pull that you'll feel. It's more of a topend thing. Unlike Turbo or Root blower the boost is more curve like and may even achieve full boost at around 3500 or 4000 RPM. So it's a definate smack at the back of neck instead of a pull.

so youre saying its a pull feeling, not a snap, which is what i have. and NCstate98 said the same thing about the computer. i hope its just getting used to it and everything. we will see. i should test drive his car. and he should test drive mine!

Where exactly was the smoke coming from?

That smogging thing. You don't think oil might have leaked into the engine bay? I think you did say that you did the Pcv mod.

I have to ask. Did you clean your engine? That could do it too.

yeah, try spraying decreaser on the engine and wash it all away with water.

after everything is dry it may smoke a little at start then should be fine.

ok the smoke has stopped, the car is still feeling sluggish though. also, something seems to be vibrating, you can hear it at idle. i cant quite tell what it is or where its coming from. here is a soundclip from the enginebay:

                      www.savedalone.com/misc/blower.mp3
(the last half of the clip is at idle, where you can hear it if you listen for it.. the rattle that is)
the first few revs were slow and to about 2k, then i did some 2-3k blips.

                      ideas?

Have any pics of the engine bay? I'm interested in the intake setup that you were talking about. Not really sure about the problem you're having, just go back and make sure everything is tightened well. And for the sluggish power I'm not sure... do you have an A/F ratio gauge?

BTW, it sounds very...very...very badass! Alot of people said the powerdyne wasn't as loud "whistle" as prochargers/vortechs and such and that you can barely hear it, but it seems to whine pretty well at idle and rev, very nice.

I'm gonna have to wait till I get home to hear that clip. Just keep it driving it. Eventually the loud blower whine will tune down in time. Rough idle is somewhat normal for a car that's suppose to be NA. Did you remove your MAF screen? Because that will make your idle even rougher.

Again, compare the power to NCState98. Like you said, have him drive yours and you drive his. Ofcourse no two modified cars are alike. So don't expect anything to be exactly same. But atleast get a feel for it.

Remember Jessica's Firebird? She still has hers. In the beginning everything on her car was somewhat similar to yours. She kept plugging at it. She added a CIA headers, plugs, better exhaust, Computer tuning, and a 2.8 pulley (9-10psi). Her car runs great. She mentioned about putting down 302rwhp.

Jessica if your out there, let's hear from you.

ive got all those mods already except for the tuning for the s/c. but the rest of my car is tuned up for all my mods. oh well. ill keep working at it. i think i might have found out what that weird rattle was, but the power loss i still dont know. my car just seems slower.

                            ill get pics later today
