    Re: Cheap Turbo any good?

Kid, about when are you seeing full boost right now? I have full 3" already installed and waiting for it....but I am now considering a ball bearing turbo to help with spool.

      Re: Cheap Turbo any good?

well lets just say i didnt have a 3" downpipe to put on the turbo so i rigged up a current 2" one to get it down to the shop for the exhaust....the turbo would start spooling at like 3800 RPMS and be at max boost at about 4300.....the faster i went the faster it spooled up too...and that was only with a 2" downpipe so with a 3" im guessing to start spooling around 3 grand and reach max boost at about 3500?? i will let you know when i get my car back around tuesday night

what turbo do you have right now???

Right now I have a turbonetics T70, but I really think I am gonna scale it back to a T66 cause I want a quick spool, and with heads cam and other mods, its should spool Exteremly quick! And i would kill for a Ball bearing turbo, but...1,600 is a lot for that.

dont know, I was told first to go with masterpower, then turbonetics. Well the master power t70 is = in size to the turbonetics t66. So I dont know, I guess I could go either way. ON an off note I just beat some 50 year old guy looking for a race tonight in his CL500. Good thing he knows nothing about getting a good launch. It was awesome, then he waived to me as he turned to go home. AWESOME!

haha nice...see now theres no reason to get rid of the T70 if your beating $50,000 + sports cars :)

haha. only requirement is the driver must be over 40, and have a very slow reaction, I think i'll get em everytime.
