For some of us though, the cheaper insurance of the FI V6 may be more feasible than the V8 route. Up front cost for the V8 may be cheaper, but in the long run...... who knows. Several people on here have proven that a fast V6 can be done for a reasonable amount of money, if done carefully and within reason. It's the super-high boost and running lean that gets you in trouble.

if i wanted to get a V8, by all means i woulda got one...but i dont....what would make YOU have a larger smile on your face....

          beating a V8 with a turbo 6 or beating a v8 with a v8....beating a v8 with another 8 isnt as fun as smoking it with a 6 :) not to mention having a v6 camaro running 12's is FAR MORE impressive then having a v8 running 12's which is expected...the v6 isnt

                  Re: why is it slower?!?!

Just think, we can already beat what, probably 70% of the vehicles on the road in a race with a stock 3.8 f-body? Add some extra power - not even high boost - and we can outrun probably 90%....almost everything except the really high-end cars. And look what ours cost, be they V6 with FI or NOS or even with an LS1 and insurance, compared to what else is driving around out there. Even with Viper's heavily modded setup, it's STILL cheaper than most of those high-end cars and will probably kill most of them.

actually the heads were pretty tough, I ran into a lot of obsticles, took over 10 hours for me to get them free and clear from the block. and I havent even started in on the cam yet :(
