Hey I was wondering what everyone else with a supercharger is using to use their A/C. right now im using a 110 inch belt and I can make full boost, but everytime I use the A/C it squeals and sounds like the belts about to come off. Do you guys have any special tensioners or is my belt too big? thanks

What kind of belt are you using?

Yeah it sometimes feels like that. I wouldn't worry too much about it. Your AC is working right?

Really? Mine works just fine and I have Dayco too.

It gets to be a 115* in my area. Today is 101*. But the belt does rattle a bit more and you can see that between the Alt. and Power Steering.

I know it's a hassle but try removing your SC and run the stock belt and then see if your AC is working fine.

Oh, so sorry. I forgot that you're one of the ones that has the ATI Mach Kit. EYENVU

But nevertheless, you guys do use a single belt like us PD users. Perhaps you want to check and see if that belt is slipping from that AC. Or it could be that this is a pre-condition already and your AC may not be working properly.

Is your tensioner already maxed out for your current belt?

I would go for a shorter belt and then tighten it.

                  Good Luck.

Are you talking about just the pulley part that he took off or the whole tensioner assembly?

If it's just the pulley you can go to NAPA auto store. They have a pulley catalog that you can look at. Just be sure that you know the size and type of your pulley (smooth or ribbed) and the diameter of the hole.

I got one for $35 because my tensioner was burned out.

if you dont have a tensioner i bet thats your problem and its slipping on the AC pulley. if you need only the pulley go to NAPA but if you need the whole assembly check on here but chances are you mights have to go to a dealer or a junkyard

With the Powerdyne you have to use a tensioner. Ours runs on the flat side of the belt. Slippage would be crazy, you'd loose power, rpm would be flactuating and such.

I know that 103" is a tight fit and I remember how I had to muscle mine in there. But once it is use it stretches and you find that you have to tighten it with the tensioner a couple of times actually.

This probably explains why you say that your car lacks power.

well the piece was a hind joint that acted at a tensioner between the procharger and a pulley. I had a 113 inch belt with it on and right now I have 110 inch one......what size would you guys think? i was thinking of trying a 108? or should I try a 103 like DMW?
