hey i just talked with trans am creations, and they said the fuel rail is for 98-99. is there any difference between a 98-99 fuel rail and a 97 fuel rail? showdown is giving me his fuel rail which is from a 97 and i wana make sure it will work with my 00.

            sorta guessing hear....
pretty sure that in 98 only the 3.8 was available as a v6 option. perhaps prior years some were still 3.4 as well as 3.8. That makes parts books have holes in them.

Thats is correct. The 3.4 stopped in 95, but the size of the injectors were different in 00 than what was in the prior years. I think thats what he was reffering too.

                      Re: got a dyno, UPDATE!!

^^Correct. 99+ which used Multec II injectors that were about a 1/4 inch longer had a fuel rail that was about 1/4 inch higher.

I modified a 2000 fuel rail to fit my 97. Its works great, but it wasnt fun modding it. If I had to do it again, I would just buy a 98 or older rail.

Here is a pic when I was done with the new bends:

The red arrow is where the old bend was and the green is well, obviously the new bend.

Did you get the write-up I sent you?

I did it myself and it wasnt all that bad. The worst part was modding the rail which you dont have to do. It depends on how much time you have compared to how much money you are willing to spend.

question: when i get a dynotune, should i have them do that with the FMU on? or should i take off my FMU?

I am 99% sure you are gonna have to leave the FMU on, you are gonna run way too lean without it and I dont think you are going to be able to run stock injectors alone even with a tune.
