    Re: got a dyno, UPDATE!!

    um....
2000 and newer F body v6 cars use multec 2 (long) injectors. different injector length and different electrical connector.

2000 + ruel rail will need to have the 'feet' shortend 4mm to use older 'bosch' style plugs as well as bosch style connectors spliced in. use very good soldering technique.

racetronix has multec 2 (mini) 42# injectors that I am considering. I plan on using those to save the hassle and possible problems of splicing in bosch style connetors but they are 'about' or exactly the same length (not sure yet) as bosch injectors so i already have a used pre 2000 fuel rail ready to go.

      Re: got a dyno, UPDATE!!

now that i know you have a modded pcm it is a big help.

yep, get that sucker back to TSP. suggest stock timing table with perhaps -2 degrees across the entire timing table. (still run premium fuel...in real hot weather the -2 degress will help keep you safe...but not inhibit performance to any large degree.

also suggest to ask them to 'ADD' fuel on the WOT tables. i can't remember off hand....but they will know what you are talking about. basically richen up the WOT fuel tables by -1 AFR. this is also to help keep you safe. you have an FMU so you cant fully tune the stock injectors and you are depending on the fmu to 'over push' your injectors. this is ok at lower psi like we run. adding a little fuel might help the very high rpms while shifting and during shifting, etc...but don't worry...it would be near impossible to richen the AFR to be TOO rich with the stock injectors and a 6psi blower.

once you get the timing table set back to stock you might find all problems go away. again, though...i highly recomend a wide band o2 sensor.

        Re: got a dyno, UPDATE!!

yea TSP will take care of all the tuning for me. all i have to worry about now is these stinkin injectors.

these are the ones i have:
        http://www.performancecenter.com/aut...acl150136.html

        and i have these connectors:
        http://www.zzperformance.com/grand_p...ts1.php?id=188

what exactly will i need to do to modify the fuel rail? pictures will help.
or could i buy a fuel rail from a car 99 or under and just swap them out? where could i get one? junk yard? are OEM replacement rails expensive?

p.s. im going out of town till wednesday so i wont post back here till then but all the info you can get would be great, thanks.

          Re: got a dyno, UPDATE!!

used fuel rail will be far cheaper than a new one. hundreds cheaper.

look at your fuel rail. it ataches to the upper plenum at four points. i call those 'the feet.' basicaly measure 4mm from the center of the mounting holes. (4 mm 'up') and drill a new mounting hole and bend the foot above the hole. the fuel rail now sits 4mm lower on the plenum.

i may have said that wrong....
rather...measure 4mm up the feet from the original 'bend' make a line and bend the feet there. then drill new mounting holes. not sure if the now 'longer' feet will need to be trimmed off.

if you get an older fuel rail ($25 bucks????) it will already be formed for the shorter bosch injectors and will be a perfect fit.

i am going with an older fuel rail and the racetronix multec2 minis. it may not be a perfect fit....not sure...but i will still have my stock rail as backup or in case of removing mods from car.

so what i really want is just a used fuel rail. sounds a lot easier. how easy are they to swap over? and how hard is it to find one? (i guess ill find out?)

I told you , just call junkyards and get it for cheap , same for connectors. this is basically same fuel rail just with longer mounts. Direct swap.

Thats looks like the one in the pic.

that fuel rail is the one I sold and no it wasn't from a 97. It was a 00+ one that I had laying around.

                    Re: got a dyno, UPDATE!!

I had to do the same thing, except when i did mine it was because after i installed the SC i had a pin hole leak in the fuel rail it took a good 4-5 hours and you better have a magnet handy ( that was my problem) as well as good c-ring pliers for the fuel regulator and use a lot of oil or some kind of lube on the O-rings on the injectors to make them set properly, here is where i got mine it took about 2 weeks but i couldnt find one at any junkyard in the country just injectors, but that was a year ago http://www.buy-oem-parts.com/storefront.htm
