I don't think welding is that hard. You can take a semester of welding at your local college just do be sure that you develop your skills right.

But I think the real problem that you might have is bending the pipes accurately. Mandrel bending can be tricky.

Yeah the precise pipe bending is going to be the toughest part. When WELDING the pipes you need a tig WELDER because you are working with aluminum. A mig or arc WELDER will burn right thru aluminum. Tig WELDING takes a bit of skill too.

Should I take it to a professional welder instead or pay someone to install the kit?

what aluminum, pipes are steel with an "aluminized" coating. Unless we are talking about intake piping and why use aluminum for that?

when it comes to the bends you could just buy some pre-bent peices from summit in various angles and use them to create your system. Just an idea.

I thought most of the tubing was aluminum. Even if its steel with aluminum coating it might still need tig welded though.

Bottom line, I'd still take it to a pro just to make sure everything is right.

if your just starting go with a lincoln pro mig 140 very good welder and it comes with a instruction video and book. It will cost between $500 and $600 though. Well worth it.

Aluminized steel welds fantastically with a mig welder.
You CAN weld aluminum with a mig as well.
Its harder than tig at that point though.
