Anyway...they show a picture of the kit and also mention something about the oil filter elbow. where exactly does this kit go? my first conclusion is that the kit would modify the oil pump and that means gutting and tearing down the motor a bit to put the kit on. On the other hand they are talking about the oil filter elbow...is that all that needs to be removed? tell me it's that easy...please....
i have this kit...... the part your oil filter goes on has 4 bolts in to the front cover........ take it off and the spring and that stuff comes out..... replace with the kit and reinstall

if the AC is in the way you have to loossen it and push it out of the way to get to the bolts (they are long)

EDIT:so yes its that easy and cheap insuance if you ask me

What was your rev limiter set at? did you keep it at the stock 5800 rpm or had you raised the rev limiter?

second question for group: do we have an oil pump that is sorta weak by high performance standards or something? is the stock oil pump putting out enough pressure under extreme loads? is it putting out enough pressure for the built or somewhat built engines or the forced induction crowd. I know not everyone spins a bearing but it does seem very popular.

sorrry to hear you gotta do all that work on your ride. i hope it all turns out great. good luck.
Since i have a GTP to drive around now, I think I was pushing the car a little to much. On top of that the tune was not perfect. I did move the rev. limiter to 6800. But i did upgrade the valve train. Like i said, i think i was pushing the car too hard before it was really ready... O well it just gives me an excuess to build it up :)

God I wish the would hurry up with a forged stroker kit, then the last of the weak links would be the block itself.

the block/crank is not the week link in our motor...... forged is a waste of time/money

man your over thinking forged pistons, series III cond rods, and stock crank are running Mid 9's with out issues.... over 800 HP to the crank and intense plans to hit 8's soon

no one has broken a crank or SIII rod due to raw power yet

the week link is the head gaskest but you can only get those so good lol
