  • What kind of couplings are you using?

I'm going to change all of the couplings and picked up a black silicone one at Pep Boys and installed it tonight. It is Spectre brand. It's ok, but I need it to be a little bit tighter where the supercharger piping connects to the throttle body. I went with a 3 1/2" - 4" coupling. The band clamps keep it tight, but only time will tell when I boost it. Maybe I'll attempt to squeeze a "straight" 3 1/2" band instead.

Any suggestions on places (on the web) that supply these things? I'm not sure if I want to get more of them from Pep Boys or not. I'd like some custom-looking ones, if that's not asking too much. ;)

      ebay.
do a search in the ebay turbo and turbo parts section for silicon couplers. there are a few people that sell them. some are real cheapo but some are reinforced. pretty affordable. much cheaper than some of the ones (3.5 to 3" elbow in particular) i have come across on the net...80 bucks...no thanks... i will stick with ebay.

what do you need a 4" coupler for? a 3.5" fits the TB perfectly.

you need those and t-bolt clamps, yeah the bolt are $$$ but you dont have to go around every to weeks and snuger them back up

make sue you order .25 larger tbolt then your pipe size

ok, thanks.. found some at the speed shop today. There are nice silicone ones like on that site (Viper) and they are made by Vibrant. I can't seem to find their website, but I already ordered 3 from the shop and they are coming in tomorrow. And.. yeah, I need them all to be 3 1/2". :)

              about T bolt clamps:
I found that atleast the ones i have are too wide to fit the TB well. they ride up on those nubbins that are on the outer rim of the TB. I went with a normal type of large radiator screw clamp on the TB becuase the band is not as wide as a t bolt band. now the nubbins on the TB are kinda like having a flange. it snugs on real tight.

yea.... i figured normal clamps would become queastionable at high psi but i am just a junior leaguer. :)
