  • Supercharging the 3.4

Ok, i am planning on putting together a supercharger kit for ym camaro, but need a few answers while i plan: Here's my specs,

    1. I have speed~pro hypereutectic pistons-- .030 over, with approx 10:1:1 compression, (I know my compression is not ideal for boost but the motor started out NA) can the pistons with stock rods handle 9-12 or more PSI of boost?

    2. My cam is a COmp custom grind 224 224, again not great for boost, but vortech said that it will work. What are your thoughts? Changing the cam really isn't an option

    3. I want to use a Procharger pb-600 or Vortech V-1 counterclockwise blower, with a custom bracket made to mount the blower where the A/C compressor pulley should be. Currently i have a dummy pulley there. Will putting it there put too much strain on the impeller shaft?

    4. My second option is to have a new crank pulley made, with an extension so that the blower has its own belt, COG maybe?

    5. If i can handle high boost, i want to intercool it, what size cooler fits in the front bumper like FFF kits ? and what is a decent brand/ place to buy it from?

    6. Besides the blower, FMU, do i have to run a blow-off valve? Where is good to tap the oil pan? Will 19lb injecters be enough? I know i will need a better fuel pump!

Hopefully you guys can get me off to the right start! thanks, all input is appreciated.
