    Re: Anyone have this?

a lot of people have it. very common sc since it is one of two superchargers for our cars. Works good. You will never get a straight answer whether turbo or sc is better. It is an ongoing debate. Right now there is a pretty big turbo bandwagon going on through this site. However the record of 11.8 is held by a powerdyne+nitrous car and most of the turbo guys have blown engines right now but they were pushing over 10+ psi on their kits.

search using the search feature and you will find weeks of material to read on both

I remember Tiago quoting me somewhere around 11 to 12 psi for my kit if tuned correctly. Somewhere around 400rwhp if im not mistaken. I think i'll stay with what i've got going. Why be like everyone else and buy something thats mass produced?

            Quoted for truth.

I will say in defense for Tiago that building custom turbo kits would take some time. But hey, if waiting a few winter months will be paid off with low 13's or 12's, in the spring then it would probably be worth it.

Different throttle body. They have a kit for the 99-02 though.

They make a kit for 99-01. Not 02s. Something changed in the car after about the 6th month of production during 01.

Thats what the rksport website said. Although they list the kit as a part for the 02s.

If you want high boost potential then Turbo is the way to go. There's a lot of stuff involve when it comes to high boost.

If you upgrade the bearings on the Powerdyne to SKF and GT kevlar belt you can certainly run 16psi (2.4" pulley) reliably on the blower. Ofcourse belt slippage becomes greater with a smaller pulley. Again, high boost means a lot of stuff to do with the engine.

Nice thing about Turbo is that there is no parasitic lost from the crank but you do deal with lag. Once the turbo kicks in at mid-range rpm you get smack to the back of your seat.

Nice thing about SC is that it's rpm dependant so you feel the power throughout the rpm range and it's awesome at top end. You don't feel a smack, you feel a PULL.

Oh yeah, Nitrous is also boost. Gotta be fair to James :D
