  • 3.4L Turbo Header Question???

Alright, over winter my 95' Firebird 3.4L is getting parked in the garage. I'm gonna start my mods on it. What I'm gonna do is start from scratch and build a turbo kit for it, buying everything separately and getting it setup how I want it. Now, my biggest question, where can I get Turbo Headers for this motor? Are they going to have to be custom made or is there a company that already builds them for this car? They're probably gonna need to know what turbo I'm running correct? for the correct flange size? Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm not gonna put this project off for a year or so..it will be done by spring. I can do alot of the metal fabrication myself so brackets, etc won't be a problem...Thanks guys

I would talk to white95 in the other thread, he has a company that may be interested in making a kit. Otherwise you would have to fab up your own headers.

good luck on headers, my kit runs off normal headers into the y-pipe that runs up front to the turbo then back around. i'm assuming you want FFH, you'll have to fab your own set then bc if GMR (reffer to other thread) makes a kit it'll be based off mine.

Alright...well, like I said, I'm new to the whole "Turbo" scene. I thought that I needed special headers to run the turbo but I must be mistaken..How could I run it with the stock headers? I was also checking into the centrifugal turbos from forcefeedit.com...which don't require exhaust to run the turbo, rather they use either pulleys or gears, like a supercharger. Like I said, any info will be greatly appreciated.

hmm, anything belt driven would be a S/C.

but turbos are more efficent than S/C. And you wouldnt HAVE to modify your headers, you just haev them dump into a collector where your y pipe is right now, then bring that pipe back up from behind the car to the turbo, voila
