Does any one here know if you can get a similar sound as a turbo with a supercharger. like the sound of the blow off valve going off on a 3.8 99 firebird auto... just cuious i like the rk sport supercharger but i love the blow off valve sound on the turbos

Lots of people put BOV's on there Powerdyne kits. It still wont have the spooling noise of a turbo, but the BOV sounds the same.

yea just put the blow off valve on the sc and you are good to go.

assuming you are manual, if you are auto you dont hear it as much.

dont they make this thingy that goes in your exhaust pipe that sounds like you have a turbo on ebay for like 20 bucks :)

You don't have to correct yourself. I knew what you meant all along, you aren't fooling anybody.

On a serious note, is that legitimate or something you just heard about? Because I would probably rag on someone for getting that just about as hard as I ragged the asian guy who came into the parking lot the other night with an Acura, it had an intercooler up front and he got out talking turbo this, turbo that. Finally we said pop your hood so we can see what all this fuss is. His mod list from what was visible was this:
Intercooler
blue wire/hose covers
Diehard battery

Needless to say, he left without saying goodbye and I don't think we will ever see him again, until he comes to shut everyone up when he has gotten the turbo.

Now I'm on a mission to find someone with one. I would probably end up getting beat up by the person because I would come prepared with an arsenal of jokes to make at him. In the meantime, I think I'll buy one :naughty:

please stop telling people you don't need a BOV if auto

YOU NEED A BOV. end of story

it does not get used bettween shifts but it is need when you let of the gas during a pull

the life of you turbo or SC will be MUCH MUCH longer


i hope you dont plan on runing that BB T-70 without a BOV

Yeah, it is a signature. Just like at the end of a letter or email, where some people might have their professional signatures saved to attach to each email they send.
