everyone who has ever done a write up on the denounces them, there warranties dont hold, and once they are replaced with real turbos, you CAN tell a difference, ask camarokid98.

i'm sure that that kind of a generalization is exactly that... a generalization. I think that there are some really shady places that do business on ebay but there are some honest to God places that do business there too. really, i think you just gotta investigate the seller and remember that if it's too good to be true.. it probably is.

            Re: Ebay turbos?

i would not reccommend an ebay turbo for a Real turbo car. And what i mean by real is that you are gonna drive it, and beat the snot out of it...not just drive it once a month and boost one time during that drive, then i would get an ebay turbo cause they dont cost anything and it wont hurt anything sitting there....however if you wanna make some real power, deff. stay away from ebay's line of turbo such as XS power etc....i would just find a used MP one or a garret...something that has a well known name, not just a no namer that will break.....if i recall there was a member that had a ebay turbo on his car and the hotside fins broke on the exhaust shaft and ended up screwing up a bunch of things....also alot of the ebay turbo's are overly sized....i for instance had a ebay turbo for the first month on my car only because i ran short of money and just purchased one for the time being to get my whole project together. I also inspected the turbo once it came in from ebay and it said in the sale that it was brand new....when i took it apart it was obv. it was used. When i had it on my car for that month, the seals blew, the hotside compressor fins bent etc...the turbo was simply junk and it had a HUGE .84 hotside on it. Then i came accross a real good deal from a forum board member for a MP t70 for 550 brand new....bought that, installed it and i have never been happier....right from the switch there was a huge power inscrease
