As most of you know I just recently reinstalled my Powerdyne on the car again. Before I had the Powerdyne I had Programmed my PCM with the Hypertech (18" Wheels, 3.42 gear, shift points, rev limiter, fan temp and 93 octane) After a little reading I have heard that I should return my PCM to stock settings?? What can I still leave programmed and what should I change back to stock?? Your input is welcomed.

Re: Powerdyne & Hypertech PPIII
you can leave teh gearing, shift points, rev limiter, fan temps, but get rid of the timing advance from the 93 octane setting. You don't want to advance your timing with a power adder unless you are seeing no KR

Re: Powerdyne & Hypertech PPIII
reset the timing to 87 octane, (though now that you have the blower you need to be running premium)your timing has been advanced and with a blower that is bad. Personally I'd drop the rev limiter and shift points to stock also at least for now to be safe, do some research and then see what you can raise from there.
From there I'd go with something a little more advanced like HP tuners so you and monitor what your engine is doing and adjust the tune to keep things safe and likely build a little more power.-Brad

Re: Powerdyne & Hypertech PPIII
Like everyone else has said, remove the 93 octane tuning. Run 93 octane gas regardless.
You don't want to run a generalizated N/A tune made for a stock fbody on a car that is now FI. Also, if you bother to get HPtuners which I recommend highly, remember to completely remove ALL of the Hypertech tuning before using HPTuners and then sell that overpriced piece of ****.00\' firebird v6 5spd<br />201rwhp ---- 230 rwtq<br />\"Everyday I grow stronger...and further from you.\"<br />WARNING: Do not take any of my comments seriously unless they are technical in nature and then only at your own risk

It would be good to take it back to stock and save the stock tune (using HPT)
just for a backup (Highly recommended)
Then put that hypertech tune back in and start from there, I would2k2 camaro, K&N, SLP whisper lid, Konis, AEM, HP Tuners, Angel eyes/Halos, CF SS ram air hood, 4.10s, Zexel Torsen, UMI SFCs, CrossFire, BFGs, Gatorback, Catco, Flows, and TLC! DONT feed the Trolls!

Re: Powerdyne & Hypertech PPIII
yep, just remove the 'hypertech power tune' portion of the program.
if you like higher rev settings and feel it is safe then leave those too..... makes me nervous, though. lots of engines go boom around here.
