To start off, I have a 99 firebird. The kit that is on my car was originally used with an internal wastegate. Therefore, there is no wastegate flange on the manifolds. After getting the kit, I decided to buy a new t3/t4 garrett turbo without an internal wastegate. My reasons for doing this were simple..I wanted a tial 38mm external wastegate. As I understand, I have two options. I can either sell my brand new garrett turbo and opt for a turbo with an internal wastegate or have a shop weld a wastegate flange onto the manifold and buy the external wastegate i want. Now, I can't decide what I should do. Also, I need a new down pipe. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Wastegate Issues
it should not be hard for them to do that..... i would mark on the pipe where the gate needs to go then just take the pipe off and to the shop and have them weld it up for you and have them weld you up and exit for the gate toowww.turbov6camaro.com

Re: Wastegate Issues
yea, as long as the manifold isnt cast iron that would be like an 1-2 hour job at a fab shop, probably under $100, if you were located in NY i could do it for you
