Is is stupid to use the back of the belt to drive a supercharger. I need a counter clockwise ideally for my 3/4 setup that I will mount around where the AC compressor was, but I keep finding deals on clockwise rotation ones. I'm tempted to use one, but I would have to have the back of the belt touching the SC pulley. BTW I would have belt contact from say 4 o'clock to 9 o'clock on the sc pulley. I have heard of people using tape on the pulley?

What kind of SC are you planning on using?
Using the back of the belt is not so much of an issue anymore for Powerdyne. For one thing the PD spins much easier than gear driven SC.
If you're planning on getting ATI, Vortech, or NOVI you can order the reverse rotation of their head unit. Then you can do your set up the same way as Mach Perf. and put the blower pulley where the idler would be.
You can use the backside of the belt. Take a look at the John D. Power wrap to get an idea of how to route the belt. Also, you can have a grooved pulley made that will help the belt keep traction. Just make sure you DON'T get a vertically grooved pulley, they like to eat belts.
Don't tape the pulley.

WEll ideally I want a vortech, Rev rotation as stated, and know that they make reverse rotation SC's but I am on a budget, so I am in the used market. I found a deal on a clockwise Paxton NOvi 1200 . THe only thing is these don't make a whine like vortechs. Who knows about this mach kit, i never heard of it? Do you think that they would sell me a bracket or hav even one

Contact Mach Perf. and see if they will sell you those brackets. But mine you the dimensions are not the same for the headunit bracket.
NOVI does make a whining sound intimidating sound. That's a Stang GT here from where I work and this student of ours has this blower. Sounds really mean.
