I am a longtime fan of camaros (practically 18 years of my life) and i am eventually going to get one, school is expensive, afterall. I'm going after a 96-97 v6, but i have some questions. is it possible to swap an engine from say, a grand prix gtp?

Have you ever seen the intake on a GTP?
the motor is transversly mounted so the intake side has plenty of room to sprawl out, when you mount it to a RWD car say like....a camaro, that intake is gonna run smack dab into your fire wall.
Now you could get a Holden blower which is made for RWD cars, but then you have a massive 120degree bend in the intake pipe.
Next, You will not be able to intercool it with the modern (plate style) intercooler that is popular with the GTP's. There is BARELY enough room to make that setup work as it is (one person has done it). So you will eventually have to run meth injection.
its possible, but not worth it for the extra 40 hp you get from it. Just get a camaro and supercharge or turbo it.

I wouldnt recomend swaping a full GTP longblock if you are going turbo charged, just the short block, then you can use top end components from a camaro.

and with the SC you drop a few pulleys do some other work and you would hit it.
