Is it possible for a sts turbo system for a 94 firebird formula to fit on one with a 3.4 in it?

Any body care to help, my friend knows a guy who is selling one for 2300 dollars, because he just bought a procharger system.

I did search and nobody said if it would fit, they just said how much better a front mount turbo was.

Ya all you really hear from the posts is that its not worth it and how sts is so bad. Alot of left wing people but to answer your question. Yes it will fit, and yes you would have to the lt1 kit not the ls1 kit...but if you are going for it I would swap the 3.4 for a 3.8 :| would be alot better for performance.

If I were to buy it and install it, could I run it at 3-5psi until I got it tuned?

              Re: sts turbo

yes you can run it up to 7psi with a FMU and fuel pump untill you get it tunned....

It will take a good amount of fabrication to get it to work well tho

also don't forget that turbo was designed for the flow of a v8 not a 3.4 v6, don't know when it would actually begin to show boost

                        Re: sts turbo

The STS kit is an overpriced medocre system. If you want to do a system like that you would be better off building it your self, they charge way to much for that. Also the performance will not be as good as a traditional turbo setup do to the cooler slower moving exhaust gasses that far back in the exhaust. I'm sure bankz will try to call bs on me again but its physics its not an opinion.

                          Re: sts turbo

thats why you heat wrap the exhaust and the hotside of the turbo...so the exhaust gases dont cool down...

i have a t70 on my 3.4 and i have no problems at all building boost. i've heard sts are nice and get the job done but i'm currently working on a front mount turbo kit for the 3.4 that would be a lot better.
