    oh its possible to run more, but the furter you push it, the more likely for somethign to break....and you wont do it on a stock fuel system day in and day out.

      10psi = .001 cfm! 10psi can also mean = 1000000cfm!

      I just loooked at the 2nd sticky, And the 2nd line says right there:

      """"Yes, you can boost your stock car! 6-7 Psi is usually "safe" and still get lots of power. Some people have been running 10 PSI daily on there motor."""

      There is also the Search ability: http://forum.camarov6.com/search.php

        I am running 10psi daily and havent had a single problem with my motor....the only thing running that much boost on a stock motor and stock tranny is it completly killed my transmission (A4) but you need a good tune to get away with it. Soon im gonna be running 14psi on a stock motor but with Meth on track day and 10psi daily.....but we need a little more information

        I take it your talking about a turbo?? is so what turbo?

        and how much power you get out of 10psi depends on the tune,your fuel system etc....

        if you do it the right way with larger injectors, a high pressure fuel pump and a good dyno tune on 10 psi with a t61 to a t70 i would expect roughly between 315rwhp-350rwhp....but alot of factors play in that such as even the intercooler.

          Re: running 10 lbs?

          I was reading Maximum boost last night, and Mr. Corky Bell said that
          He had installed numerous turbo systems on numerous cars, and with that he'd formulated some kind of equation. It reads like this;
          .052 x (displacement) x (absolute pressure) for the lowest he's ever achieved,
          and
          .077 x (displacement) x (absolute pressure) for the highest.

          So, if you were talking about a 3.8L V6 Camaro with 200hp, and you were runing 10psi, the lowest hp outcome you should generally expect would be;

          .052 x 231 x 24.7 = 296hp. 14.7 is normal atmospheric pressure, (14.7 at sea level) plus boost, 10psi. This equals 24.7.

          The highest you should generally expect would be;

          .077 x 231 x 24.7 =439hp.

          If we average the 2, we get 367hp. That's your ball park figure.

          Keep in mind that this is based on cars that may or may not have much in common with our V6 Camaros.

            10 is fine long as the fuel is there, and there's no Knock. tune would be in order

              well, im adding an msd fuel pump, is that sufficient or would i need injectors? and id always run premium :) one more thing... i had performabuilt tell me that a stock 4l60e will only handle 350 hp stock... so id propably need 9 lbs instead?

                      .......depending on how heavy they are
                      corvette 2k rims were like 13 lbs?
                      some people just use racing rims/wheels at the track, switch back and forth

                        i need to order turbo setup, transmission (if needed), piping, catback, and rims and tires (definitely tires *starts whistling*) for around $5500... should be tricky :)

                          Re: running 10 lbs?

                          how far do you plan on going with this in the long run?
                          are you always gonna be happy with 9psi max on a T70?

                          If you arent gonna be happy forever, then you will have to either rebuild
                          the engine, or get a motor that was made for higher boost L32/L67...etc

                          With that said, could you be happy running a nitrous system (which would be cheaper short term)?
                          Of course if you werent happy with the nitrous, you could always step it up (rebuild, or get an L67/L32) and run more Juice!!

                          The nitrous will hole shot better
                          Just a thought..

                            well, my parents wont allow nitrous due to the f&f where the car blows up...like that really happens :bs: and i dont really want to refill nitrous bottles. i will propably be happy for quit a while on 9 lbs, ill definitely be upgrading later, but for now 9 is fine... :) im just looking for lower ets than a celica, and a little more "kick" for the streets ;)

                              who wants to run juice when you could have Constant boost ;)

                              I was happy at first when I was running 10 psi cause i started at 5psi, then went to 7 as i upgraded to larger fuel injectors, then i went to 10psi. It feels much much faster then 5psi (well duh!) but when you get around that power level on 10psi, it gets very tempting just to turn that knob a few more times and you know you could add another 50rwhp. Its just addicting, but then again i have a very very heavy foot.
