  • back from the dyno

    Before: 292/268
    After: 253/260

Mods Added: 3500 stall converter & meth injection kit, descreened MAF, bosch BOV

Numbers were SAE corrected, 70degree weather, 6% humidity.
AF Ratio: was set to 11.5, but reading 12.5
    Advance: 10
    KR: .8 at 5600rpms
    Inj. Duty: 70%

It was only a short tune and we didn't get a lot of things worked out and finished, MAF was maxing out etc.. but I am going back next week to mess with it some more. Suggestions? Comments?

Is the loss in hosepower caused from the stall converter?

stalls eat up hp but make up for it in spades at the track

Seems like a big hit but...you added the converter, which will take away hp, and you dynoed on different days. A dyno should really only be used as a tuning tool, not as a measurement of a car's capabilities IMO.

yea. the 3500 stall eats HP, but the power is still there.

get a torque converter lock-up switch, or have the computer lock the converter in any rpm besides 1st. this is assuming ur converter is built enough to handle locking up that early ad u have lock-up to begin with. this will give you more accurate dyno results as well as better trap speeds due to direct drive in 2nd and 3rd.

it doesnt suck, you go faster. big deal if your dyno number drop a little. his track times will drop too. and the car is probally even more fun to drive now.

congrats david, sucks to hear about the MAF maxing. good luck sorting it out, get back to the track soon.
