im thinking of buying a "1G"? DSM BOV off of a guy, im starting to collect all the parts i am going to need for the turbo set-up next winter, basically is this a good choice for my needs, im planning on running 10# maybe 15# of boost depending on cash put into the short block during rebuild and capability of the turbo i get so will this work out for me or am i wastin my money, im still a little sketchy on how a BOV actually functions (I know it sounds like a stupid question but bare with me) i know you reference boost from the charge pipe but can you adjust these DSM units, thanx for any help in advance

DSM BOV question?

Re: DSM BOV question?
by the way how they work:
easiest explanation is this....When your car is shifting gears while under boost your throttle body temporarily closes, or almost closes. This causes the pressure through the intake pipe to come to a hault and start to build up. Rather than that pressure bottling up right at your throttle plate it is released via your BOV. So this keep your turbine blades and throttle plate safe from too much pressure.

Re: DSM BOV question?
sorry i have atendency to speak broken english trying to keep the post from being a year and a day long, lets try this again, the BOV is bolted somewhere on the charge piping close to the TB, a reference vacum line is run from the BOV to a vacum port on the manifold, once the BOV senses vacum when you let off the go pedal it causes the BOV to open relieving the pressure in the charge pipe,or do you reference vacum from the charge pipe or does it not matter, hope thats better :)
