i plan on running 6psi with a powerdyne supercharger. will i be needing any fuel deliver upgrades? or is the stock system efficient enough at delivering fuel. Thanks

Re: fuel delivery upgrades neccesary for S/C?
Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator (AFPR) can go in place of your stocker and increase the pressure until you are rich at idle. A boost referanced regulator can go in your return line, 1:1 rising rate will work fine for 6pisg. It raises the fuel pressure 1psi per 1psi of boost.
Are you planning on being maxed at 6psi, or are you going to see 6psi at your powerband? A S/C is going to have more boost at higher RPM's.Last edited by Forced_Firebird; 07-14-2007, 08:48 PM.

You will need to install the FMU that should come in the kit (it is a 6:1 vortech FMU). It will keep you from leaning out and is extremely easy to install. It would also be a good idea to upgrade the fuel pump as well but not "needed" for 6psi. These motors can take a lot of abuse but the last thing you want to do is run too lean under boost.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Anyways, my bud is opening a CNC shop and I will be helping him in the evenings. We are going to try making some billet rods and forged pistons. He has 30yrs exp as a machinist and 10 or so as a tool/die maker. He has recently been doing jobs for a local Toyota racing shop and was modifying other mfgrs pistons to work for them. You have to heat to operating temps before machining them, but it should be fun/interesting. Not to mention I will get some custom forged pistons for the cost of some blanks. The nice thing is, with the CNC, if I can make 1 I can make 100. Some other things I will be working on is making a program and jig to CNC port/polsih heads, so they are all exactly perfect. Can't wait...

I use to love playing with the CNC equipment in school. It was a lot of fun, I love watching the machines do my bidding :D And yeah, you are lucky as hell you didn't blow something with that.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Re: fuel delivery upgrades neccesary for S/C?
This CNC lathe we are looking at will take off 1/2" of aluminum with one pass, rotating at 3000RPM (not even max) and is capable of 24" stock. CNC vetical mill, surface grinder, acetylene/oxy torches, chop saw, manual mill, and deposit on the shop was paid for today.
Let me know if you need anything, we are just starting out and only have one client with probably 25000 parts/yr. I'm more looking forward to the custom stuff. I'm a contractor and will be helping him out at night (he's starting a new job at another shop till we get off the ground) as a kind of second job, my wife needs to have a kidney removed due to a tumor and she works as well to support our four kids. EH, enough of the pitty party, lol, we alsways make it. Let's make some fast cars :D

That lathe sounds imressive, I think the one I used could only do a little less than 1/4 of an inch per pass. There is a lot of money to be made in machining if you can get your company's name out there. I hope the wifes opperation goes well, it sucks having someone you know going under the knife. Good luck... and for God sakes use a condom when you have sex from now on :p . I might have a small project for you (just a one off bracket) if I can figure out a way to make it work. Do you know if you can plug solid works into your CNC? I have that and I can draw it up pretty easily (again only if I can somehow find a way to do it correctly).2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard

Re: fuel delivery upgrades neccesary for S/C?
The CNC miull we are starting with is a lillte old and is more like a manual vertical mill with CNC controls attached, so I don't think so, but I will ask the "guru". A shop drawing would probably be better. I am going Tue to help epoxy the floor and start getting the machines in place, I'll take pics and post them here or FT.

Re: fuel delivery upgrades neccesary for S/C?
most likely 6psi in the powerband. will i need better injectors that will be able to do the 1psi fuel per 1psi boost? so rich environments are better than lean environments? is there a write up for this?
