I want to start by saying that my listed mods are way out of date, but I forgot how to change them or even get to my profile.
I have learned allot from this forum and felt it was time to share a modification I did to the Powerdyne belt tensioner. The C clamp or anything else I read didn't get for me! I have attached pictures of what seems to be working well.
Basically you just tap and thread the top of the tensioner bracket for a 1/4" bolt. Grind the threads off the bottom of the bolt so that it can counter sink into a 1/8" deep hole you drill into a flat spot of the bolt that holds the idler pulley. Make sure they line up!
When it's time to tighten the belt you just loosen the idler pulley nut substantially and turn the 1/4" bolt clockwise. Tighten the lock nut on the idler pulley and you're good to go! I even made an adjustment wrench that I carry in the car. It is 3/4" on one end with a 7/16" deep well socket welded to the other end.
I hope I did this post right.
Enjoy,
Dan G.
