  • A few questions about turbo kits.

So I am pretty confident in my knowledge about turbos, but I had a few questions about the 2? kits for the 3800. First, do both kits delete the AC? From the pictures, it looks like the FFF kit does. BTW, the other kit I am referring to is the one that uses the stock manifolds and wraps around to the front of the engine.

Second, has any kit been proven to have better gains? It looks like the used FFF kits are more expensive.

Finally, regarding intercoolers...do you just fill the intercooler with coolant and let it be, or do you have to run coolant or other lines to the IC to circulate?

    Thanks in advance.

Both kits are FFF, the loop around one is the old style, and the forward headers is the new style.

The intercoolers you would use would be air to air so there's no need for coolant or anything like that, I'm not even sure if heat exchanger style ones use coolant, probably something similar. But yeah everyone uses air to air.

I have my kit for sale...it's not going to give you quite as much power as the FFF because it's a smaller turbo, and it does make you remove the ac because it's a passenger front swept passthrough style... but it looks nice in the engine bay with that design...not cluttered at all :) I have pics if you're interested. It's in the for sale section.
