Re: flip of a switch turbo kit....

the exhaust neets to dump right into the turbo. Why would there even be a pipe going back into the system like that?

damn its hard to draw what you mean, but i get it now, the post turbine outlet is going to hook back up with the exhaust. so its not like the turbo is mounted on a U shaped pipe. one pipe enters it and a totally seperate one hooks it back into the exhaust after its passed thru the turbine.

ok other thing that would worry me is how you ar planning to work those cutouts, usually you only weld pipe to one side of a cutout, and the other side is wide open so it can swivel. How are you going to weld it so that its completely shut and the butterflys can still open?

edit: actually that may not be too hard, hmm. but you'd have to have a damn good weld on there to make sure you have no leaks.

ok heres my plan...i dunt want to weld on the electric cutouts.... sooo...coutouts come with 3 studs that the electric cutout bolts to... ALSO cutouts come with like....best way to explain is a metal gasket? so i fugure ill weld the exaust pipe to the "metal gasket" and the bolt all this together

you'd have to mount a waste gate right in front of the turbo, or get an internally wastegated turbo.

i was thinking about that too...cause i want to set it at 7 psi...how much is a normal wastegate?

it all depends on the size of the turbo if it will be internall wastegated or not. Smaller turbos are, bigger turbos arent.

you need to decide on a size, and that will pretty much answer your question.

that gasket looking thing, but instead of paper gasket, its a half inch piece of steel, if i weld exaust pipes to that i can bolt everything and not weld on the EC's...

I see, Well, I think it should work, I guess holding boost would be my only major concern
