Well I'm asking questions about turbo's again, so here are some pictures of my turbo i want to install. I want to know what you guys think of it and if the stock actuator wastegate is any good. The car i pulled it out from was doing 15PSI with this turbo, but the only thing is that is was kind of spiky when i ran the car. So i am asking if I should weld a wastegate when I'm getting ready for the turbo setup. Also this turbo seems to have fitting so water can run through it. Can you guys guide me in the right way and tell me what to do. thanks in advance.
Looks like a Sy/Ty turbo size Mitzu eclipse or similar.
The spikes you were seeing in the other car proably had to do with the boost controller.
I use that style wastegate all the time with very good results.
If the turbo you use has coolant passages you need to have them hooked up or it will shorten the life of the turbo big time.

I'm going to run it in a 3.4L not a 3.8L. This turbo didn't come from a ricer car. But I'm going to experiment with it though it looks beat up but it just needs TLC.
The turbo was free. my friend gave it to me, because He had wrecked his car and he was parting it out so he gave me the turbo instead of selling it. Although it looks beat up it still works he had just rebuilt the motor and turbo at least 2500miles before the accident so I'm gonna go ahead and take a chance on this turbo.
