Depends on what kind of fittings. AN fittings...no sealant. NPT fittings...use sealant.

AN fittings do not fit onto NPT fittings. Threads are completely different.

Just use teflon tape (plumbers tape). Some people say use teflon paste, but I dont like cuz its messy and kind of a PITA.

oil plumbers tape. Its special tape , yellow color.
leave first 2 rows of thread untaped.

Yellow teflon tape is for natrual gas / propane.

Thats what I was thinking...

I've used regular teflon tape on all my oil fittings and never had a single problem with it.

Any teflon tape will work with oil.
