    Re: Supercharger Siezed

ah just get the superpowerdyne rebuild and really see what the powerdynes can do. :) Yea you would want an intercooler at 12psi. Just some piping and couplers and you have one, not to hard to rig up ;)

well lets see i have had the camaro towed at least 4 times....

        1 time for tranny work
1 time back from tranny work
1 time when an oil line blew and caused a small fire
and 1 time when i thru a rod on the first motor

the cobra has been towed twice

1 for sheered wheel studs causing the wheel to literally fall off
1 for hole in the intercooler heat exchanger

        thanks for congrats!

small fire eh? psh, nothing to stop the drive for. wheels falling off? you didnt need that wheel anyway right?

haha thats a pretty solid list you got goin there. hopefully the Lotus doesnt add to it.

I have pretty bad luck so I am not counting it out, and the engine fire was pretty ****in scary to say the least. LUCKILY!!! the house i parked in front of had a oil/liquid fire extinguisher. Now I ALWAYS! have one on board.

I believe it is 3.12", or very close to that, made for 6psi. If the belt broke/slipped off wouldn't the pulley still be able to spin? It wont budge one bit. My dad is home putting the car back to N/A and then he and my cousin are gonna drive it and my decommissioned Powerdyne back down here for me, at which point I'm gonna see whats goin on inside it.
It had happened 2 times where the belt had broke or slipped off and it gets wrapped up against the impellar where it won't move, one time it seized up and the drivetrain belt broke because of the supercharger and wrapped around the oil filter knocking it loose and it started leaking oil out of the oil filter location, that was fun. The weakest part of the powerdyne is the internal belt. I broke many of them.

wow, thats pretty insane. did you have to send it in or did you just have them send you a replacement belt and do it yourself?

                  Re: Supercharger Siezed

Just did it myself, bought the kevlar belt on ebay for $50 or so. Once you've taken the powerdyne apart around 10 or so times it is real easy to do, also replaced the input shaft myself along with bearings.

yeah, hoping its just a bearing or the belt ripped so we can fix it ourselves. we havnt gotten it opened up yet but we got all the bolts off the back of it. its still on there pretty tight and we dont want to force it open to much and break something, so we are gonna call 928 today and ask them how they open them up.
