I know this has been beaten to death, but I haven't seen it an the forums. My question is in tearms of streetablity which is better turbo or sc?I asked a friend and he said turbo but I'd stll like some other opinions. I'm not looking for a drag car just a dependable daily driver with some kick.
My list of mods are as follows:
    1:8 rockers
MSD DIS spark box, coils and plug wires
    A fabbed cold air intake
    Hypertech power programmer
I know that turbos and sc are about the same just apples and oranges I'm looking specifically for my application.

I can DD my turbo/nitrous car if I wanted too. I just choose not to so as to not put so many miles on it :)

But I think a turbo would be a better DD as long as you keep your foot off the gas and dont boost it at every stop light. A supercharger is run off the serpentine belt which causes you to lose gas mileage.

Yeah if you don't get into boost turbos are supposedly able to create better gas mileage by atomizing the air more or some crap like that.

Why should I lose the programmer?

Because they advance timing which can cause detonation with a turbo.

You will need to retard your timing, NOT advance it for a boosted car.

I have a hpp3.. isn't nearly as versatile as HP tuners. Not even by 1/89th eh. I regret buying it with as much as I got into this car stuff as I have. If you're getting into turbos you'll learn eventually. Hopefully.

When properly put together there's nothing wrong with a daily driver turbo setup with a safe tune for pump gas. Tune will determine how well it lasts. It's absolutly critical to spend the extra time getting it dialed in.
All the expensive parts in the world won't work with a poor tune.
My daily driver 89 Nissan Maxmia had 181,000mi on it when I turbo charged it. It now has 241,000 on the stock engine. I run 13lbs of boost daily. Get the same if not a few mpg better than stock. It's run 13.40@107.89mph with a 2.4 60'. (FWD sucks) :)
So... it's with out a doubt possible and feasable to do with no trouble.
The Blue Camaro I did is driven by a 17yr old daily. And I'm sure he never get's on it .
Giving somthing like that to a kid is a great way to find out what blows up first Lol.
