If you make one, it will have to be custom fabbed.

check ebay for a used powerdyne kit... yes the 3.8 likes boost, but truthfully, the m90 isn't worth it IMHO

Not true. The L36 does not "like" boost. Can it handle it if built properly? yes. Does it like it? NO. No stock motor that wasn't built to be boosted likes it. Ever find oil leaks? You will. Don't forget to ask your rear main seal how much it likes boost.

Make sure to install a crankcase ventilation system for all of the blowby.

our cars react really well to nitrous and FI. It has been proven time and time again.

dont just buy a supercharger and throw all kinds of boost on it...stay in single digits till you can get some supporting mods like intake, headers, exhaust, ect. and once you do supercharge you will want to tune very soon after, or you will knock which can ruin an engine over time.

and no...no one makes a kit for our cars anymore. someone used to but no longer. you have to buy a used kit.

TBO98....20-25 psi without issues. Kidcamaro98....15 psi, no issues. Teuful Hunden (FTV6)....17+ psi, no issues. I run 12 psi plus spray and my rear main seal is just fine, I checked it when we installed my torque converter ;) All cars mentioned have 100% STOCK MOTORS.

Case in point...L36 will handle quite a bit boost without being "built".

That really sux if your car had oil leaks with only 6 psi. Something was probably setup incorrectly.

There are MANY cars that have had issues. In fact every car that I know of, that has thrown a blower on, has had blowby. It's a fact of life. Add boost, pressure increases immmesely inside the crankcase... oil squirts out of seals (or wherever else it can). To say that the L36 "likes" boost is an ignorant statement. So many more factors go into building the car and even then, there are NO guarantees. My point is: you better have a ventillation system in place.

all you have to is vent the PCV into the air or use a valve cover beather

i did the drill TB and no issues with pushing oil out

Thats not an ignorant statement at all. Whats ignorant is to install a blower without doing the PCV block-off coupled with venting the throttle body...voila!!! Oil pressure problem solved! ROFL.

I never said that there are any guarantees when adding boost to this motor, I know this first hand. I installed all my own mods and will be the first to say there are no guarantees when adding any modifications. But, what I can say is that a properly setup supercharger or turbo system is capable of producing very good results at high amounts of boost with fueling mods and tuning on the L36.

I've had the oil dipstick tube pop
Did the PVC block off and added a breather to stop the problem --- just like (I think) every FI car on this board.
With the D1SC, I do have a severe overpresserising issue that was causing enough oil to come out the breather (directly onto a header) that it was a concern. We hooked up a catch can (oil cap w/ hole in it, 5/8" heater hose, 2ltr coke bottle, and a little more heater hose) and no more problem.

Problems are always going to come up when it comes to custom setups. You just have to know that going in and have the conviction to push through and find answers.

There is a solution to every problem, and a can-be-done for every idea. Sometimes it's simply a quesiton finding a way through a series of limitations; money, material, equipment -- but look hard enough and you can get it done.

It's a heck of a lot easier to throw up your hands and quit, or to tell someone it's not worth the effort than it is to push through a problem or help someone out. Sometimes you do have to step back and take a look at it from another angle -- but the answers are always there. :)

^^This small community has come as far as it has because of people like Jenn, Viper, James, usd2sing, Linxs, Tiago, Merlin, Grayman, N2OEQIP, TBO98 etc. People who are patient and willing to devote lots of time, work and most of all money trying figure out how to make this platform perform at a higher level.

These people are pushing these cars to their limits and beyond and breaking things in the process, but thats how problems are found then solved. Problems such as crankcase ventilation ;)
