I was thinking about what I'm going to do with my car once I no longer need it as my dd and reliability is less of a factor. I'm considering running water/alch injection on a naturally aspirated car. I know you guys have heard it before blah blah blah, but I think it has potential, basically in the form of advancing the ignition timing at WOT. Then when I'm feeling very adventurous, I could dissolve the nitromethane into the methanol and run that for some ridiculous oxidation. I was reading forums for VWs and bimmers, people picking up 50-80hp on nitromethane. Mostly on boosted cars, but some N/A. Anyway, it could be fun and possibly less trouble than nitrous (though basically the same concept).
I'd probably run two pumps triggered by manifold vacuum, one 50/50 water/methanol at say 100 psi and one 80/20 methanol/nitro at say 80 psi. Then advance the heck out of timing (this actually becomes necessary as you add more nitro, it burns more slowly than gas). Should be beast.
Am I planning on it? not really. But this is one route for the firebird's retirement plan. Thoughts
