FFH questions!

So I have some pacesetter headers and the ole log type manifolds from a 98 to work with. I dearly need front facing headers. This under K member stuff bites *** big big time. If I were to just turn those headers around... 1. Would pacesetters even fit? 2. Would the logs fit?

I was looking at the log manifolds today and it seems that they would mount up but I don't know about the ball flanges stickin out somewhat like they do.

If I could just get some headers on there to face forwards with some kind of flange I could do the rest easily enough. It's just the headers I'm worried about.

I'm going to be wrapping up the one at the shop with NO A/C.

If people really want this to happen and have a duplicatable pass. side manifold and

cross over pipe to turbo flange then someone needs to step up and get me another car

so I can make two sets. One for the car and one for the place that has offered to

manufacture them.

The 98 Camaro I did has had NO issue and is driven almost daily. They did put a 3:42

Posi rear end into it and might be taking it back out to see if it get's any better traction

and drop it down into the 12's.

Scott, if all goes well this week, I cna drop my car off with you for a couple months. I just have to make sure my DD is completely fixed. I did pick up my turbo/guages and am picking up the oil lines this coming week, so my kit is starting somewhat. send me a pm later next week so that I cna let you know how well my dd is running

i just cut apart my pacesetters used the flanges with some 3'' pipe and made log style. It is pretty easy if you have a grinder a welder and some time. Mine turned out fine and took like 3 days to make. just leave room for spark plug removal and watch where the belt runs those can make a good set of headers get cut apart.

Mine turned out fine and took like 3 days to make. just leave room for spark plug removal and watch where the belt runs those can make a good set of headers get cut apart.

lol.. you know you can buy the flanges for a pretty decent price? Yeah, got a grinder, metabo, and a crappy gasless welder. It gets the job done though.

right but use what you got i suppose. but if your willing to work a little and i am guessing since you have those tools have some idea on what your doing it works out pretty damn easy. mine are log with a mid pipe that bolts inbetween with the turbo below the ac is deleted and the down pipe goes where the old compressor used to go and right to the stock location where you can bolt a factory exhaust or whatever right to it. Plus the waastegate is welded just before the turbo with a flex bellows that recirculates it. It was alot of work but honestly you should have no issues. Buy the 3 bolt collector flanges for like 10$ from autozone and some copper flange gaskets anre you are golden.

Actually, i love working with metal and this sounds like a great chance to get more experience with it. I don't get to do it much more at work since I was "promoted" to an inspection position. Sounds like a winter project. I don't know.. I think I like working on my car almost more than driving it.
I'm gonna have to get a better welder.. The duty cycle on the one I have no is horrrrrrible. 1 minute of work with 10 minutes of rest. Yay for Harbor Freight.

i did it with the same one and i promise you it is either too damn hott for the pace setter pipes or just lays the wire on top. i even used gas. get something worth while. looking back i wish i did since i had to take them all back off and fix the damn cracks from the ****ty welds. indeed yay for harbor freight

I made a pretty good weld for my wideband sensor bung with it. Ya just gotta be easy and patient with it. But I would definitely get a new one if I could afford it. I think I might ask for a raise. I've been busting my *** at work harder than almost everyone there so that might not be out of the question.

remember o2 bungs are thick and dissapate heat. i am a certified welder and that welder and pace setters do not get along. but maybe you will have better luck. i do dislike mig
