Re: Powerdyne BD11A + intercooler bad, refresh my memory please.

Cool guys. that is some of the info i needed, especialy the pics of the intake mounted nozzles. shame we have to put it so close to the valves. if it works though, thats a start atleast. honestly, im with techsan23 and the way he moved his maf closer to the blower so that his water nozzle could be in the discharge pipe and atomize with the compressed air better. its just too bad the water/meth contaminates the IAT and MAF sensor.

As for the meth nozzle being post IAT sensor...I suppose i can tune the timing with trial and error, but i will never know 'how much' cooling of the intake (blower) air is taking place. I guess i will count my gains from meth injection in degrees of timing advance i might gain back.

ssms5411, if i remembere correctly, you only had your meth kit hooked up for like a couple days or a week or too before your powerdyne needed bearings or something (unrelated) then when you had just got your blower back you had to sell off your mods so you never realy got a chance to tune the meth and compare gains, correct?

as for upgrading the injectors, im going to go look at that electrical connection adapter(s) that 97rs4life mentioned. i hope they are not the same old ones that require phsyical splicing. (with gas the way it is i might just demod this car, sell it as stock, by a new gas mizer daily driver and keep my eye out for a 6m 98+ transam for the weekends and summer)

I also want to see if the powerdyne discharge temps can be reduced before put a smaller pully on the blower and invest in bigger injectors. I would hate to loose the psi gains to heat soak.

Re: Powerdyne BD11A + intercooler bad, refresh my memory please.

Thanks 97, i went there last night and looked them up as well. unfortunatly, they say they are not for the L36 and L26. It says they are for 2004+ gtp. I emailed them and asked 'why' they would not be compatible and briefly described how 99+ v6 firebird/camaros come stock with multec2 injectors rather than bosch style.

while searching last night around web in general for multec2 related adapters and injectors i found that the opposite type of connectors seem to be the only ones available. there are plenty of options to go from bosch to multec2 but not the other way around. i cant even find male multec2 ends in which to make my own quick change adapters.

I did find a 44# multec2 injector, however. its is labled as multec2 44# (shorty) and the described length is 58mm. Now i need to research my stock multec2 injector length vs bosch type injectors and see if those shorties will fit on either of our (older or newer type) fuel rails or if this 'shorty' injector is some kind of odd length that does not match anything. racetronix sells them and so do others. this other place has a simple diagram that gives dimensions. http://www.bmotorsports.com/shop/pro...roducts_id/574

im going to remove my STB for a couple minutes today and try to get calipers down on the #2 injector and get some sort of rough measurement of my stock injectors.

WAIT...... ssms5411... you have a 2000+ car with modded fuel rail and modded injector harness dont you? do you have any of your old injectors still? think you could throw a brother some length dimensions? pretty please with octane boost on top?

Correct Grayman, I never got to really get it dialed in before selling it. When 928 rebuilt my powerdyne they sent it back with a bad input shaft(kept on shredding internal belts, even got wound up inside the powerdyne and seized up the main belt taking off my oil filter) nothing like oil going every where. I replaced the input shaft my self and ran it about a month with the methanol, was working alot then so I never got to mess around with it before it sold.

FWIW, i put my nozzle for the meth injection right after the TB on the left side wall of the upper intake. worked great. only ran the meth kit for a while though before taking it off.

lol, i seem to read about more people taking off meth kits than putting them on and keeping them on. I understand dmw319 went from a powerdyne to a beastly turbo though if im not mistaken. gratz on that.

I went from the powerdyne to nitrous, but if I found another powerdyne for a good price I would buy it and run both. Once you get use to nitrous and have it all tuned for it, it is really fun to use.

haha, oh, im sure it is. i would love to have a 'second' power adder on my sled. i just dont think i would like turning on/off all the nitrous gear every time i get in the car. with the hours i work i will pretty much never get track either. even my main highway is only 40mph speed limit. (it was 50 when i was a kid) the freeways are SO crowded around here even in off ours that maybe 1 out of 10 ramp merges are open with no soccer moms in front of me and im not kidding. AND THE COPS!!!!!!!!! omg. we have them all. un marked standard trooper cars, un marked late model stealth troopers, un marked SUV troopers along with the normal marked statey bastages. boohoo, poor me, i know im wining.

if nitrous did not have all the baggage of bottle opening, warming, etc. and could just be left in the 'on position' similar to meth injection i would just set the system up to trigger on WOT and fo sho use nitrous for the boost/cooling effect.

seems like meth injection is working for turbo peeps so i have resigned myself to plumbing the front of the intake manifold for it and just tuning with histograms. If that works out then next step is larger injectors, delete the fmu and use about a 9psi pulley.
