Re: rk sport powerdyne question..
i never installed the timing retard unit that comes with the kit. works just fine without it and it can mess some cars up. you will want to run premium fuel and get colder plugs such as ngk tr6 and gap them at .035.
on a different topic, not to put a downer on your project, but the bd11a blower is not oil cooled. it has a track record of failing frequently and often when it is put into high rpms from using small pullies such as 9+ psi. might wanna read up on that topic.Last edited by grayman; 08-25-2008, 02:39 AM.

Re: rk sport powerdyne question..
this is true, but as he stated above he only wants to run 6psi, which means he'll have a happy powerdyne. but there are ways to get to 9psi other than dropping pulley size, such as shimming out the impellar or getting the upgraded impellar from 928. the latter is a bit pricey though......
but yeah i never installed the timing retard unit either, and my car is running fine

Re: rk sport powerdyne question..
When I had mine, I had to install the TRC1 , since I did not have HPtuners yet. I had to set it on #2 or you would hear the engine KR when I was getting on it. But this is in 115 degree temps. But after I got HPtuners TRC-1 went bye-bye and so did the FMU(replaced with 36lb injectors). I would say depending on the weather you might need to tune some of the timing down. On mine running around 9-11 lbs of boost most days I could only run 11 degrees timing and 13 degrees in the winter. Also had KR sensors reduced by 40%. So I would be safe and get the right equipment before running any type of power adder.08' L76 6.0L 4X4 Chevy EXT.Cab LTZ Vortec MAX with Snug top cover, Dynomax exhaust,Hptuners& K&N intake

Re: rk sport powerdyne question..
all good info, i do live in seattle area so i dont even know what 115 degrees is like. i did mention the 'over 6 psi stuff' because in OP second post he stated something about '6 psi to start.' just giving him a heads up that there is more to think about than just fuel upgrades.

by DongrossmdI’m new. I actually don’t own a Camaro or firebird. I do have a 2000 Camaro 3.8 fly by throttle and 4l60e. This is installed in a 1980 Triumph TR7...4 weeks ago
